While nearby Charlotte may be a great place to indulge in retail therapy, the Lake Norman area can hold its on when it comes to offering places to purchase everything you would ever want and need, from home décor, the latest in fashion, consignment and more.

Find a one-stop shopping experience in Downtown Mooresville (Exit 33 and 36), with a true hardware store and a variety of unique shops and restaurants. Venture to Hwy. 150 at Exit 36 and find any big box store you need, including HomeGoods, Michael’s, Old Navy, Super Target, Staples, Walmart and more.

Langtree Lake Norman (Exit 31) features a mixed-use shopping center offers a burgeoning mix of boutiques and restaurants, such as Hampton’s Men’s Clothing and Lilly Grace Interiors. Davidson, Exit 30, offers a small-town environment of downtown shopping, complete with Main Street Books, MINE by Sandy (a high-end ladies’ boutique), a haven for outdoor enthusiasts at Davidson Provision Company and The Village Store, a legendary gift shop that is more than 50 years old. Be sure to stop by the Davidson College Store on Main Street for all your Davidson College gear.

Three miles north at Exit 28 is Cornelius, which is home to quaint shops up and down Catawba Avenue, such as Inspired at Lake Norman, luxe boutiques like Luna’s at the Lake (located inside Home & Heart & Soul, which also offers one-of-a-kind home accessories). Dutchman’s Designs and The Bungalow Market also rank high on the list of places you must check out for all your home décor needs.

Exit 25 brings you to Huntersville, where you’ll find Lowe’s, Target and Kohl’s, along with Birkdale Village, a mixed-use shopping center that serves as the unofficial town square. With a nice mix of fun local shops (such as Poppies Gifts and Nina’s Boutique) and familiar chains (think Banana Republic, Gap and Talbots), Birkdale offers a pleasant shopping experience even for those who don’t enjoy shopping.

We guarantee you’ll be able to find everything you may be looking for here, and don’t forget to support local businesses whenever you can!
