NOW THAT TRAVEL IS BACK ON OUR AGENDA, we’re ready to hit the road, explore the beaches, or perhaps just camp out under the stars. And if you’re like most of us, leaving our furbabies behind is tough … or not an option at all! In order to include furry family members in your plans, here are some travel tips to consider before you pack your “doggie-bag” –

PLAN A PRE-TRIP VISIT WITH YOUR VET.

Con rm that vaccinations are up-to-date and your pet is healthy enough to travel. Make sure dogs and cats have a microchip and wear a collar with an identi cation tag that includes your name and phone number.

BRING A LITTLE TASTE OF HOME.

It is important to bring along a familiar bed, pillow, blanket, and favorite toys. Anything that smells like “home” will be of comfort on the road or in the air. Also, keep dogs and cats safe and secure with a well-ventilated crate or carrier.

WHEN THE ROAD GETS BUMPY.
