As we deliver to you this year’s Report of Contributors, I am both inspired by, and grateful for, the many ways people in the Lakeside community contribute to the life of our school. When I witness our community working together for the benefit of the whole, and when I experience the positive impact of that collaboration, I appreciate even more the role each person plays to make it all happen.
Our report this year highlights how our donor community, through the Lakeside Fund and other gifts, has come together to help enable all the things that bring life and energy to our campuses. Your support allows students to deepen their academic passions and discover new interests as they work with talented teachers and classmates. Your support helps create opportunities for our kids to enjoy the spirit, performance, and camaraderie of our arts and athletics programs, as they grow with their classmates and represent the school at an exceptional level. Your support makes it possible for us to expand the parameters of the classroom with our Experiential Education and Global Service Learning programs, where our students explore the key values of compassion, selfawareness, generosity, collaboration, and the joy of helping others. Your support encourages our teachers to excel in the classroom and to be lifelong learners in their fields of study. Furthermore, your contribution models how we build community and establish connections—in our school, in the greater Seattle area, and in the world beyond the Pacific Northwest.
These are all essential experiences at Lakeside, and your partnership has been, and will continue to be, an invaluable component of making sure they remain at the heart of what we do.
Gratefully,
Kai Bynum Head of SchoolThrough the generous support of our donors, 16 students from the Ecological Studies class were able to study the coral reef ecosystem and actively contribute to service initiatives in French Polynesia.
