Your Impact,

By the Numbers

REPORT FOR CONTRIBUTORS JULY 1, 2022–JUNE 30, 2023

Arts Fest, which celebrated the artistic achievements of over 300 student artists in visual and performing arts, was made possible in part thanks to your generous philanthropy.

Thank you for supporting our students!

As we deliver to you this year’s Report of Contributors, I am both inspired by, and grateful for, the many ways people in the Lakeside community contribute to the life of our school. When I witness our community working together for the benefit of the whole, and when I experience the positive impact of that collaboration, I appreciate even more the role each person plays to make it all happen.

Our report this year highlights how our donor community, through the Lakeside Fund and other gifts, has come together to help enable all the things that bring life and energy to our campuses. Your support allows students to deepen their academic passions and discover new interests as they work with talented teachers and classmates. Your support helps create opportunities for our kids to enjoy the spirit, performance, and camaraderie of our arts and athletics programs, as they grow with their classmates and represent the school at an exceptional level. Your support makes it possible for us to expand the parameters of the classroom with our Experiential Education and Global Service Learning programs, where our students explore the key values of compassion, selfawareness, generosity, collaboration, and the joy of helping others. Your support encourages our teachers to excel in the classroom and to be lifelong learners in their fields of study. Furthermore, your contribution models how we build community and establish connections—in our school, in the greater Seattle area, and in the world beyond the Pacific Northwest.

These are all essential experiences at Lakeside, and your partnership has been, and will continue to be, an invaluable component of making sure they remain at the heart of what we do.

Gratefully,

Through the generous support of our donors, 16 students from the Ecological Studies class were able to study the coral reef ecosystem and actively contribute to service initiatives in French Polynesia.

Your gifts gave students the opportunity to participate in 37 outdoor trips, learning and challenging themselves beyond the classroom.

Your generosity made it possible for 85 sixth-grade students to design water-pressure rockets, providing funding, materials, and educational support to facilitate their learning of aerodynamics and flight principles.

585 Upper School and 252 Middle School students participated in athletics, achieving remarkable success with a total of 14 team championship titles across league, district, and state competitions. Unwavering support from donors like you helped Lakeside athletes excel in a competitive sports landscape.

Students in the Seattle: Culture and History class learned how the region was shaped, walking two miles through the International District and choosing from 18 other local experiences in which to participate.

Your gift allowed 99 Middle School

Spanish students to learn about the traditional art of Benizza weaving while studying Mexican culture.

Thanks to gifts in support of Lakeside’s need-based financial-aid program, 32% of students received financial aid for tuition and additional school-related costs.

Your support allowed faculty and staff to participate in 150 professional development opportunities, where they deepened their skills, competencies, expertise, and pedagogy.

Over 400 volunteers shared their time and talents with Lakeside this year, helping our community accomplish so much together. Thank you!
