Project 1 The Cartisian Prism For This Project I was tasked with working within Cartesian planes to create spaces that are defined by the movement of planes and frames, across, through and, around each other. I started this Project by working with in 4 cubes. As the project progressed, we expanded the cube to 8 and began to define spaces further. Finally, I was tasked with activating a space. I did so by highlighting and the sliding and rotating my highlighted space.

Project 2 Action Space In this project I was given a theoretical site to design significant spaces using the ideas of project 1. These spaces had to be designed around and interact with a wall that was already on the site. I also was tasked with designing use of these spaces around the life of a historically significant person. I designed my spaces around the 18/19th century writer Sir Walter Scott. I designed a collection space, a space for social gathering and a personal study.

Project 3 House, Home, Habitat In this project I had to analyze an architecturally significant project to understand the underlying concepts of its design. I was given the OE House designed by FakeIndustries in 2015. In my analysis I discovered that the house was designed using a strict grid like order. Furthermore, the house played with the idea of blurring indoor and outdoor spaces. It also focuses on the idea of stacking stereotomic elements over tectonic elements.

Project 4 Ground Control In my final project I had to use the analysis from project 3 along with the space making and space defining ideas from project 1 and 2 respectively. I was given a fictional site on the edge of a lake and tasked with creating a house that uses the ideas of sequence, spatial hierarchy, and formal geometry and order. With those ideas in mind I focused on using sequence to define the other two and came up with a wall system which influences the directions you move and which spaces you interact with.
