Jack,
a
 designer/craftsmen
from
Franklin,
NH,
has
worked
with
metal
since
the
late
‘70s.
At
the
demonstration
 he
will
carve
a
model
for
lost
wax
casting,
a
techniques
he
is
particularly
known
for.
Lost
wax
casting
is
 an
ancient
technique
that
been
used
in
cultures
around
the
world,
with
materials
as
simple
as
cow
dung
 and
clay,
but
is
still
used
today
with
highly
mechanized
processes
for
making
industrial
parts,
dental
 restorations,
and
sculpture
and
fine
jewelry.
Jack
uses
the
process
to
cast
delicate
birds,
flowers,
twining
 vines,
leaves
and
snakes
in
necklaces,
earrings,
rings,
and
sculptures.
The
demonstration
is
free
and
all
 are
welcome.
