made
their
first
recording
together
as
members
of
the
Even
Dozen
Jug
Band
in
the
 early
60s,
and
the
rest
is
musical
history.
A
master
of
the
guitar
and
harmonica,
Sebastian
became
lead
singer
and
songwriter
 of
The
Lovin’
Spoonful,
which
played
a
major
role
in
the
rock
revolution
of
the
mid‐1960s.
A
virtuoso
mandolinist,
Grisman
 spearheaded
an
acoustic
music
revolution
with
his
genre‐defying
“Dawg”
music,
a
unique
blend
of
swing,
bluegrass,
Latin
and
 other
influences.
Forty
plus
years
later,
Sebastian
and
Grisman
crossed
paths
again,
producing
Satisfied,
a
stunning
CD
 collection
of
acoustic
duets
featuring
traditional
folk
tunes,
blues,
classic
instrumentals,
and
originals.

to

was
a
witness
to
history
in
the
seven
critical
years
when
the
struggle
for
Cuba
was
not
just
between
Fulgencio
Batista
 and
Fidel
Castro,
but
also
a
third
force
that
advocated
for
a
peaceful,
democratic
resolution.
Elections
were
held
on
November
 3,
1958
and
Dr.
Sterling’s
father,
Carlos
Marquez‐Sterling,
was
a
candidate
for
President.
His
father
was
predicted
to
win
by
a
 landslide,
but
there
was
rampant
electoral
fraud,
due
to
Batista
and
the
Army.
Six
weeks
after
the
election,
Batista
fled
Cuba
 and
Castro’s
revolution
took
over
the
country.

Young

leading
poets
of
his
generation,

history

Black
America.
His
newest
book
is
Dear
Darkness
(Knopf,
2008).
For
the
Confederate
 Dead,
was
published
in
January
2007.
His
earlier
collection,
Black
Maria:
Poems
Produced
and
Directed
by
Kevin
Young
is
a
 "film
noir
in
verse,"
a
playful
homage
to
the
language
and
imagery
of
Hollywood
detective
films.
Young
was
a
1993
National
 Poetry
Series
winner
for
Most
Way
Home.
