Spending Time and Money The 1920’s has been a time of many changes. We have recently been introduced to Jazz which has made our nights out much more fun. The ladies out there have been given more freedom with their clothing and what they can do. The economy has also been changing. We have been able to buy more and work less which has allowed to have more time to do fun things. With the ability to buy more we have seen a larger number of ads throughout the cities! The 1920’s is changing the way we spend our time and money through new and better ads, newer and better products, access to fresh information through the radio and movies and introduced the amazing thing we call credit. Radios and movies are giving us access to new information, we will have more options during our free time. We will not be bored; sitting down and not doing anything. We will have more fun, because mass media has its roots in the early part of our decades. We like having time to watch movies and listen to music from our radios, because earlier in our lives we did not have such good technology and items to use.
Advertisements are everywhere now and they are making americans buy useless products more than ever. This is a good thing for the producers they are getting more money because of the new ways of advertising. Now it is easier now for the producers to get there ads out using the radio. While they would be listening to music or listening to the broadcast they would play ads with would make the consumers go out and buy the products. Though the new ways for advertising aren't the most truthful things it is making the consumers think that they are getting something awesome but actually they were getting something that is most likely pointless to them.

As far as we can tell it’s not and if the quality is lowering people are still buying tons of U.S products. People are buying more products than ever before. This is making the economy boom. There are more jobs and higher wages. Another thing to come out of this is the growth of the middle class. This is the best the U.S economy has ever been. Buy now and save later is the motto that you should start living by. We are living in the golden age where we have new things to buy more leisurely activities and more time to accomplish it all. Credit allows you to have more purchasing power and worry less about getting food on the table and having to allocate time for the people you love and care about. Hate it when you pass stores and see all the things you cannot have because you are trying to save up for a car? Those days are no longer, you can now have it both with credit. You can buy it now and pay for it later through monthly payments. Credit has changed the consumer world as we know it.

So far the 1920’s has been a time of mixed emotions. The crime rates have been climbing with the introduction of the Prohibition. During a time like this it is easy to focus on all the negatives. Right now we are living through an incredible history. Our streets are slowly filling with color as advertisements are spreading showing off all the new products that we are now able to buy with credit. Not only are we just seeing advertisements we are hearing about them too on the radio which has given us the ability to hear about daily events while they are happening. These new advances have given the American people more time, money, activities and coloring our streets.

New Advertising Tactics Luke Miller Advertising...the new wave! It is spreading everywhere. You have most likely seen it while reading the paper, listening to the radio or while reading that new magazine you bought at the store. It is everywhere, but why? Advertising is everywhere nowadays. People are coming up with new ways to advertise now as well. Now people are using the newspaper to get their ad out. The c ompany pays the newspaper company to put their ad in the paper so more people will buy their product. In my opinion this is really smart because everyone is winning. people are also having psychologists make the ads because they have been studying what people like and what makes them want to buy something. So then they would put that stuff on the ad.this is really smart of them because now people are buying more of their product. People are wasting there money on pointless things or are getting pulled in by thinking they are getting a good deal on products and services but they aren’t, they will get pulled in by lines like ‘today and tomorrow only’ .

The Quality of American Products Owen Smith We live in an interesting time now a days since our brave boys came home from the war. Americans are thriving with so many new inventions like henry ford's automobile and the nw breakthrough of credit. Now all these inventions are great at home but is there more to it that meets the eye. This brings up the question, is mass production lowering the quality of american products, or is it good for U.S consumers. We as U.S citizens never see what goes on inside the factories that make all the new products we know and love. We at the magazine went to some of these factories and asked their employees what their day to day life was like. I will call the person we interviewed Boss for privacy purposes. Boss came from ireland to find new opportunities in the land of the free. He got a job at The rough river factory working in the assembly line for henry ford. We interviewed boss and he said ,” Working in the factory was worse than being in the army. We would sit there all the live long day and if we made even the tiniest mistake the manager would come over and slug you in the head. I tried to leave my job but I couldn't. There was nothing else I could do. I didn't have the skills to do anything else. I was trapped in there for years. Once you become a ford worker you were one for life¨. That was a first hand account of what it´s like to work on the assembly line. But is that what it´s like for all factory workers? We interviewed some other employees and they said the pay was good and they got home 6 every night. So are we as americans okay with buying all these new products at the expense of someone else. Apparently we are because the economy has never been better.
In this time of mass production the price of goods has plummeted. Americans are buying more goods than ever before which is good for us and good for the companies who make these goods. Since this economic change has started the middle class has grown rapidly. More and more people are getting steady jobs and study pay and building many suburbs to raise a family. There are thousands of american families who are thriving from the new invention of credit which allows them to purchase the new more expensive technology items like the refrigerator and the stove. We know all those american housewives love that! Now what can we make of all these new inventions like the refrigerator. The daily life of the american has changed dramatically from new technology like the automobile which allows americans to travel fast and go where they please. The refrigerator has allowed families to keep food for long periods of time. All these new inventions are extremely attractive to the consumer but how well do they actually work. We at the magazine went to find out. We found most of the inventions worked most of the time. Since all these new power plants are supplying an amazing amount of electricity all the new household items have the energy to operate correctly. This shortens the daily housework by at least fifty percent.

The quality of american Products Cont. The stock market is the most secure it’s been in history. Before unskilled workers were at the bottom of the barrel but now they riding right along side with the middle class. Well after everything you've read in this magazine I think the answer to the question everyone's been asking is pretty obvious. Mass production of products has changed the way americans live their lives. A new era has emerged from the war and it is one of peace prosperity and most importantly consumerism.

TV’s and Radio Omer Noureldaem
“From swanky jazz to our favorite sports, America has been caught up by a new craze: the radio. Mass media has its roots in the early part of our decade. The first commercial station was invented here in Pittsburgh, PA. Right away we sold lots of radios, and lots of them were bought. By now 28 radio stations were opened up. The number of radio stations being opened up, has risen to 681 stations. Favorite radio shows are popular and we use them and enjoy them daily. Broadcasting and advertising were on tv. American businesses began advertising on radios. Sales of radios had grown to more than $ 842 million a year. We played phonograph records before microphones so we used them more often than microphones and we liked them better. High school sons enlisted a quartet of singers. This became a regular feature so people started to sing more.Gradually the thing grew so we started to like radios and movies. We issued new records.
Family life changed because of the radio and movies, we listened to music on our radios and watched movies on our TVs, during the free time we had Radios and movies became common in homes. They were put in living rooms, so that they could be used when we wanted and needed to use them. Our families gathered around radios and listened to music. We loved listening to music a lot, because it was a new thing that was becoming popular. add information for movies here. We also liked to watch movies, that we were interested in. Those movies gave us time to relax when we were tired of doing stuff. And they gave us something we can enjoy and relax with. Movies were the perfect way for relaxing we sat in a comfy seat, and ate some popcorn while watching the movies we enjoy Overall we had fun with radio and movies, because during most of our lives we did not have that kind of technology to get to use things like that.

BUY NOW SAVE LATER Izabel Houselog
Say goodbye to saving for months for that sofa you have been wanting! We have reached a new era. We are now in the time of credit, buy now pay later. Some might be wondering what exactly credit is. Credit is where you can borrow money for a purchase and just pay them back later with a little extra. How great is that? This means more time for Jazz and other fun activities. Credit allows us to work less and spend more time at home with our families. Credit is a great thing for America, now is the time to take charge and get involved in the new phenomenon we call credit. The main benefits of credit are that is provides better lifestyles and quality of life for many Americans, benefits the economy and you have more money and flexibility. Credit allows for a better lifestyle for many of the working class Americans. You no longer have to crunch the numbers and hold off on fun activities because you need to save your money for a big purchase such as a car. Sometimes you would have to pick up extra shifts making it so you could spend even less time with your family. With the introduction of credit you no longer have to make those sacrifices. You are also able to purchase more of the things that you want but do not need.
Remember the time at the end of the war where no one could find a job? Credit believe it or not helps with that. With a large amount of people out buying products and services we need more people to run the stores, provide services, and manufacture the goods. The economy also benefits from credit because credit encourages the steady flow of money. A steady flow of money means that business are making more money and are going to expand meaning that they will need more workers who will then receive more money that they will go and spend which creates an ongoing cycle. More money circulating throughout the economy decreases the amount of conflict between people as the immediate need for food and other necessities is put at ease and makes life a little easier.

Credit in a sense gives you more money that you are able to spend. This allows you to have a higher flexibility. This consequently leads to having a better life since you do not have to worry about money and have less stress and also do not have to work as much. No more budgeting or having to allocate funds, you can do it all! Don't fear credit, embrace it. Cars aren't just for the rich anymore you can be just like them with their cars and all of the modern technologies. Before you know it you will be out on the sea with the most elite and enjoying all the extra spending power that you have acquired. Just imagine it a house full of technology that you never thought you could have but that is now within arm's reach thanks to credit. Can you picture it? You and your family driving to go and listen to some Jazz. Credit is a great thing that we have been waiting for. So no need to wait anymore, go out on the town and embrace the opportunity to be able to buy what you want when you want it because we are no longer in the old times of saving for months. Spend time with your family, put your feet up and relax because you don't have to work anymore and watch the economy grow before your eyes and most importantly go buy now and pay later.
