Being cognizant and receptive of the interests of the communities where we operate is an essential component of being a good neighbor and maintaining a successful and sustainable business.

Community outreach efforts are a vital part of how we operate, and our employees play an integral role by volunteering over 25,000 hours across the Greater Beaumont area.

Each year, ExxonMobil pays more than $50 million in local taxes, and is the largest contributor to the Beaumont Independent School District. We strive to support the Beaumont area through community investments and involvement opportunities that encourage further economic and educational development and improve quality of life.

In 2020, ExxonMobil donated $25,000 to Lamar University to establish the Amelia Elementary Cardinal NEST (Navigating, Excellence, Success and Triumph), a state-of-the-art learning lab that also provides STEM-related lesson plans and software, and additional resources to promote college readiness and career exploration in STEM.

Following delays related to the COVID19 pandemic, the NEST successfully opened in December 2021 with a huge celebration and pep rally.

During the same year, the Lamar Institute of Technology (LIT) dedicated its existing Petrochemical and Advanced Technology Center (PATC) to ExxonMobil to recognize the long-standing partnership between the organization and company dating back nearly 30-years, and ExxonMobil’s contributions of over $1 million in financial, equipment, scholarships and sponsorship donations since 2009.
