As I sit down to reflect on this incredible journey, my heart is overflowing with gratitude and excitement. I am absolutely thrilled to announce that I have made it to the finals of the British Hairdressing Awards for the second consecutive year, competing for the title of Northern Ireland Hairdresser of the Year. Winning this prestigious award last year was a dream come true, and to be back in the finals again feels nothing short of surreal.
When I first embarked on my career in hairdressing, I never imagined that I would find myself in this position. The journey has been filled with countless hours of hard work, creativity, and passion. Each snip of the scissors, every brushstroke of colour, and every moment spent with my clients has shaped me into the stylist I am today. It’s a labor of love that I pour my heart and soul into, and to be recognized on such a grand stage is an honour beyond words.
This year, I have poured my creativity into a collection that I am incredibly proud of. It reflects not only my personal growth as a stylist but also the inspiration I draw from the vibrant community around me. Each look in my collection tells a story, capturing the essence of individuality and the beauty that lies in diversity. I can’t wait to showcase it and share the passion that fuelled its creation. The anticipation of presenting my work to the esteemed judges and fellow finalists fills me with a sense of joy and purpose.
I want to take a moment to acknowledge the other talented finalists who have also made it to this stage. Your dedication and artistry inspire me, and I am honoured to be in your company. Each of us has a unique story to tell, and I believe that our collective passion for hairdressing elevates the industry as a whole. Good luck to each and every one of you.
As I prepare for the finals, I am reminded of the support I have received from my family, friends, and clients and other hairstylists icons in the game .Your encouragement has been my anchor, and I am forever grateful for the belief you have in me. You have cheered me on through every challenge and celebrated every success, and I carry your love and support with me as I step onto that stage once again.
This journey has taught me that success is not just about winning awards. It’s about the connections we make and the lives we touch along the way. Each client who sits in my chair becomes a part of my story, and I am honoured to be a part of theirs. The trust they place in me to enhance their beauty is a privilege I do not take lightly. It is this connection that fuels my passion and drives me to continually push the boundaries of my creativity. o u r W e
As I look ahead to the finals, I am filled with a sense of hope and excitement. Regardless of the outcome, I know that this experience will be a stepping stone in my journey. It is a celebration of our craft, a testament to the hard work we all put in, and a reminder of the beauty that exists in our industry. I am eager to embrace every moment, to learn from my fellow finalists, and to soak in the energy of this incredible event.
In closing, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has been a part of this journey. Thank you to Mark Leeson and Richard Darby for pushing me in the right direction. Your support means the world to me, and I am excited to share this experience with you. Here’s to creativity, passion, and the love of hairdressing! Let’s celebrate the artistry that unites us all and look forward to a future filled with inspiration and growth.
I want to give a special shout out to Jayne Lewis-orr, hairdressing journal and Schwarzkopf professional for running the amazing show.
I can’t wait to show off my collection and to see what the future holds for all of us in this beautiful industry.
