WISDOM FROM

WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE RUNNING CLUB … When someone joins one of our runs, they’re guaranteed to be met with friendly faces. It’s really important to us that everyone feels included. Sometimes we have 50 to 60 people showing up; we make it a point to not let anyone walk away feeling that they didn’t make a friend that night. We meet at a local brewery because they’re part of our community, and we want to celebrate that. Typically, we do a 5K group run. Paces range; some people are speedy, and some people choose to walk. We get back to the brewery and everyone hangs out for the rest of the night. We meet two Thursdays a month and on Saturdays.

BEGINNERS … We have beginner runners join us often. I think it’s nice to have a group because then you don’t have to fi gure out a running route on your own. I think that encouragement from other people can be really helpful as well. That group atmosphere makes the miles more approachable. Sometimes it can feel daunting, but when you have a fun club to do it with, it becomes so much easier.
