In designing the Library, I was inspired both by the era of the home and traditional libraries. I wanted a dark, sexy space with a mix of both feminine and masculine elements—sort of a moody library lounge. My aim was to design a space where you could have a drink after dinner, play a game, or curl up with a book on a rainy day.

The original woodwork has been enhanced with a rich, black-brown stain which serves as a dramatic backdrop for the bright persimmon velvet sofa. The bold palette is complemented by khaki and amber tones which add a softness to the space. Beautiful brass and bronze accents add dimension to the room.
