NOTHING WITH A NAME
NOTHING WITH A NAME
While reading the thought-provoking book Photo No-Nos, in which photographer Jason Fulford collected the words of other photographers explaining their photo taboos, I found a quote from photographer Mike Slack. I loved the photo challenge nature of those words: “try to photograph only things that don’t have obvious names.” Slack talks about being inspired by Gary Winogrand at the end of his life when Winogrand started taking photographs of anything, photos that look like accidents. Winogrand said, “Any moment can be something.”
