Welcome. Message from the president

Today, we welcome you to an extraordinary celebration as we pay tribute to our 40 years on 49th Avenue. We stepped foot onto this campus in 1970, excited about the opportunities this new site had to offer. In just four decades, we have grown by leaps and bounds—from one building to

49th

six, from fewer than 300 employees to over 1,200, and from almost 10,000 students to over 20,000. Now in 2010, Langara is a thriving community of learners, attracting some of the brightest and sharpest minds. Our evolution on 49th Avenue has been remarkable—and we think that is reason to celebrate. We hope you will enjoy exploring our campus and seeing the special features we have planned. Please take this opportunity to meet our employees and students who are integral members of Langara’s community. We thank our volunteers, partners, and friends for their generous contributions in making this event possible. Thank you for celebrating with us.

David Ross, Ph.D. President, Langara College

The College of Higher Learning.

Our journey. Past to present

We’re celebrating our 40th year on 49th Avenue, but Langara has a long history of providing quality education. Here’s our journey from humble beginnings in 1905 to our current state-of-the-art campus.
