英语技巧能力提升课程（简称STEP）欢迎母语非英语的 国际学生以及加拿大学生就读。STEP课程是一个内容精 彩的全日制密集式初级英语语言课程，侧重温哥华和加拿 大的环境与文化。 STEP课程是专为提高学生口语、听力、阅读和写作技巧 而设置的。丰富多元的课题教材以及活动创造学生实用的 语言环境。在练习英语能力的同时，学生们也增进了对温 哥华，加拿大以及世界各国的了解。每期课程为期7周，每 年有6期课程。学生们必须每周在教室学习20小时，并要 完成每周10小时的家庭作业。STEP分为三个等级。平均 每个班级有14个学生。 STEP帮助学生：
兰加拉学院学术英语课程（简称LEAP）是兰加拉学院的密 集式进阶英语语言课程，其设计旨在帮助母语非英语的加拿 大或国际学生，为就读英语授课的全日制大专院校作好准 备。LEAP课程的内容取材自许多不同学科。在本课程任何一 级别的教学之中，都重点培训学术技能。学生的批判性思考 能力及学术策略运用会通过就读这课程而进步。每期课程为 期7周，每年有6期课程。学生每周的课堂学习为20个小时， 而且每周需完成约20小时的家庭作业。LEAP课程提供从中 级到高级的6个等级。平均每班有16名学生。若要进入LEAP 课程学习，报名者必须达到最低的英语语言要求。 LEAP课程通过以下方式鼓励学生融入兰加拉学院的学术和 社交圈：

·· 进阶到兰加拉学院的LEAP与其他学术课程 从LEAP成功结业的学生可直接入读大学转学课程。 STEP课程的教师均持有ESL教育(TESL)的高级学位，并 有多年从教经验。大部分教师均有在加拿大以外地区教授 ESL课程的经验。所有教师都经过严格筛选，筛选的标准 包括教师在教授学术英语方面的经验、跨文化意识、以及 对帮助年轻学生获得学术成功的承诺。
