UNCCPCJ BUILDING
USING ARCHITECTURE AS VERB
SEM 7 & 8 (Final Thesis)
Use the verb hesitate and create the many phases—fear, the unknown, exposure, and anti-hesitation—from high to low. The location was deliberately chosen to be the exact opposite of hesitation—almost empty, with open views, limited land use, and highly exposed—and to make use of the metro as the center of circulation to obstruct traffic at the terminus of the metro line and activate the nearly empty site.
DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
Started from having level changes with for each function and going 4m underground
The level changes with angular walls, different angles on both sides
Each function will also have horizontal level changes between each function and different height for each function and access from metro directly into the building
SEMESTER 6 NATIONAL ACADEMY MUSEUM OF ART AND DESIGN
Here I was playing with different heights as the design core being the water tank so it would be the tallest feature and the other exhibition spaces are spread out to the site have a smooth flow in the circulation.
The previous design was developed by playing with more organic form and see how does it repond to the site, they started to look like 3 different masses next to each and the flow did not seem too well.
