"PROHIBITION" Fraudulent Alcohol and Providential Trade

1922, Saint-Pierre: a legendary Rumrunner arrives in an empty harbour, hit by the recession since the beginning of the 20th century. "ILE-AUX-MARINS" Pioneers’ island Facing Saint-Pierre, the island of Îleaux-Marins, buffeted by waves and winds, used to host a community of fishermen and pioneers. From the wharf to the cemetery, through the drying grounds, the church and the school, the traces of an intense activity under harsh conditions tells their story.

At the edge of the Grand Barachois lagoon, you can observe shorebirds, seals and Canada geese while listening to the chattering of the seabirds.
