ACTION PLAN 2019-2020 STRENGTHEN SUPPORT TO L’ARCHE COMMUNITIES IN CANADA 1.2 Information Collection and Measurement

ACTIONS

1.1 Structural Review We will finalize the work of the mediation committee with the AAQ

We will complete Activities Analysis to reorganize the operational structure of L’Arche Canada

> The committees have been formed and their mandates clarified

Adjustment of the structure according to the analysis with: > Executive Team > National Leadership team > Extended Leadership team > HR/Leadership Development > Fundraising > Communications > Strategic Development

We will complete Strategic Activities Analysis to clarify and improve collaboration with the L’Arche Canada Foundation > Fundraising became the operational responsibility of L’Arche Canada. > Integration of LCF: Fundraising operation > Impact Report > Case for Support

We will develop and implement a methodology for impact measurement

We will implement a harmonized dues structure.

We will develop processes and targets for information sharing

1.3 Operational Support We will acquire and deploy high performance IT resources (database)

We will create a centralized asset pool for L’Arche Canada content

We will build a National L’Arche Community Support Center

We have developed community support for: > Communication and support tools regarding the publication of the JV Inquiry Report > Harmonized prevention procedures and improved situation monitoring > Immigration

SHARE LEARNING & NURTURE INNOVATION 2.2 Leadership Development

ACTIONS

2.1 Compelling vision We will engage the L’Arche International project on the renewal of the Charter to deepen ownership of the vision and mission of L’Arche > LC supported and accompanied the communities in the first stage of the L’Arche International process

We will contribute to Canada’s implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities

> LC actively supported the development of the Accessible Canada Coalition > LC participated in the 12th COSP State Parties Meeting

We will dispense L’Arche Creative Endeavor Grants to fund the creation, production, and performance of original L’Arche works

We will establish an online learning platform

We will update the Leadership Development Curriculum

> UQO review

> Funding participation to Celebrate the Gift

ENGAGE IN STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS ACTIONS

We will increase support of people with disabilities as co-leaders and colearners in communitybuilding strategies

We will develop leadership skills modules for people with disabilities

We will strengthen relationships & collaboration with policy-makers and public advocate on accessibility & rights

We will partner with external multimedia experts

We will develop and facilitate social finance projects

> LC worked with Vulnerable Persons Standard partners to lobby for safeguards in MAiD > Participation in CACL/IRIS project on Supported Decision Making > Shared LC resources with the Human Rights Commissioner and her staff > Served as expert consultants in disability representation for a major social innovation platform (Innoweave)

> Analyzed the financial situation of the communities in Quebec (Grant Thornton) > Developed a Case For Support coherent with the SDPP-D Grant and priorities of the federal government > Applied for CMHC Solutions Lab Grant > Applied for SDPP-D Youth Leadership Grant > Partner in succesful applications for SSHRC Connection Grants (with Dr. Pamela Cushing and Dr. John Swinton)

> Increase follow up on social media capacity

> Prototype application with Stratford

We will implement the three phases of the Social Development Partnerships Program project plan

We will proactively contribute to forums for inclusion and social justice

> Approval process completed > LC contributed to projects and the DEEP conference and funding agreement with the Inclusive Design entered Research Centre, and in > Strategic Plan MAiD forums with CACL > Leadership and Partnership and the Anglican Church work named in 2.2. and 3.3

We will engage in a structured approach of continuous quality improvement at national and local level certified by recognized external organizations

We will move from a vertical project management and governance mode to a horizontal and flexible mode in order to increase local linkages, better control costs and reduce delays

We will build capacity for L’Arche community initiatives to expand members’ circles of support in their neighbourhoods

> WCR ISC process > Participated in CACL development of TOC’s and Policy Forum focussed action plans for outreach on employment > Pilot Asset Based > CMHC Housing Solutions Community Engagement Lab partnerships and Process with Tamarack proposal developed and (Stratford) application submitted > Participated in the Inaugural Symposium of the JVRC
