OR THE 37-YEAR-F Lold cofounder and creative director of NYC-based accessories brand Lizzie Fortunato, travel is a family affair: She vacations with her husband and 18-month-old daughter and takes work trips with her twin sister, business partner, and “constant sounding board,” Kathryn. Inspiration from a visit to Morocco showed up in one recent collection’s palette, Italy’s coast translated to novelty motifs and rainbow-hued stones in another, and the landscapes of Abiquiú, New Mexico, informed the Spring Summer 2022 collection and served as a lookbook backdrop. Fortunato describes her travel style as equal parts relaxation and exploration. “For every day that I spend sitting on a beach, I want to spend another scouring a bazaar or hiking up a mountain,” she says. Vietnam, Corsica, Naoshima: Wherever she goes, she carries on, but packs a lightweight duffel to tote her fi nds home.

I DON’T LEAVE HOME WITHOUT:

1. Paravel’s Aviator in the carry-on-plus size. Chic and eco-friendly, it’s made in part from recycled water bottles, and the company has a carbonneutral shipping program.

2. My passport and cell phone go in our crossbody Ruby bag, named for my daughter because I needed to have a hands-free way to hold my phone and credit card when I’m pushing her stroller.

3. I wear a sun hat on the plane – they’re hard to pack, you’ll be happy to have it, and travelers in hats always look chic. I like Gigi Burris’ largebrimmed ones.

4. Ilia’s Multi-Stick lip and cheek stain in sienna red is always in my purse.

5. Issey Miyake’s Pleats Please line doesn’t wrinkle and helps you look put together. 6. SZ Blockprints makes colorful, fashion-forward sarongs and tunics that I use as cover-ups on the plane or picnic blankets on the beach. We carry them on our website.

7. I pack our Mood Hoops and a handful of detachable charms. These gold earrings are a sophisticated staple, and by adding the charms you can get a ton of different looks.

8. Diegos espadrilles are beach shoes on hotweather trips and house shoes on cold-weather trips. I wear them in red.

9. I travel with a roll of washi tape and pens from Muji. You have no idea how often these come in handy – I’ve wrapped presents in the airport!

10. Aesop’s face spray is a great misting hydrator when you’re spending hours on the plane.
