About EAD The preeminent quality and standards of EAD programs is the result of the efforts of our lectures, that are globally recognized subject-matter experts, dedicated to the study and practice of diplomacy and foreign affairs. Among our prominent speakers were: Valdas Adamkus (former President of Lithuania), Professor Zbigniew Brzeziński (former US National Security Advisor to president Jimmy Carter), Professor Danuta Hübner (EU Commissioner), Aleksander Kwaśniewski (former President of Poland), Aleksandr Milinkevich (Leader of Belarusian Opposition), Dr. Javier Solana (former Secretary General of NATO), Lech Wałęsa (Nobel Peace Prize winner and former President of Poland).

„In our globalizing world we are in need of common values such as equality and freedom. This is the task for the new generation of diplomats – to built a planet based on the principle of solidarity and on other common values.” Lech Wałęsa, President of the Republic of Poland (1990-1995)

“I have enjoyed the discussion with the students of the European Academy of Diplomacy enormously and, more importantly, I was very much impressed by the initiative you have undertaken. It represents a new Poland, the Poland of the 21st century, and a Poland for the first time in an extremely long time that is geopolitically entrenched in something larger than itself and yet friendly to Poland’s national identity and political sovereignty. By training a new generation of Polish diplomats, EAD is rendering a real national service.” Professor Zbigniew Brzeziński, United States National Security Advisor to President Jimmy Carter (1977-1981)

„The European Academy of Diplomacy does more than shape future Polish diplomats. It is an institution with the mission of building a stronger Poland within a unified Europe, a Europe without borders between East and West .” Professor Norman Davies, British historian

LANGUAGE AND CULTURE Skills Training Programs Language trainings The European Academy of Diplomacy offers foreign languages courses for demands and rigors of diplomacy. Courses in English, German, Russian, French, Spanish and Italian prepare participants for the official state exam in the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The classes offer both general language skills and provide participants with specific political, economic, national security and culture specific vocabulary.

The EAD, in the cooperation with the Diplomatic Protocol of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, also offers Polish language courses for representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Poland. This initiative aims to help the foreign diplomats in Poland to understand the history and culture of Poland through the language of its people. At the advanced level, the classes focus on political, social and economic issues that are the main areas of participants’ professional interests.

Polish Culture Club The Polish Culture Club (PCC) aims to aid elite diplomats and business leaders who understand that their lack of knowledge about the historical and cultural context of Poland often causes bigger misunderstandings than the more obvious language barrier. Through creative partnerships with professional experts PCC bridges the knowledge gap by creating opportunities where foreigners can interact and become active participants in Polish public life.
