With much to celebrate over the 2021-22 school year, we pause to acknowledge the generosity of the La Scuola community and to thank you all for your commitment to and support of our very special school. As we approach two decades of being La Scuola, we reflect on the tremendous growth of our program, and continue to marvel at the energy, beauty, and joy that exude from our campuses as we inspire brave learners to shape the future.

Last year marked a return towards a school year that looked more like what we know and love. We were so thrilled to gather together for a few in-person events, including our Grade 8 and Grandissimi graduations, which were times to celebrate our third graduating class heading off to wonderful high schools from San Francisco to Rome, and to congratulate so many Dogpatch Grandissimi students making their way to our Mission campus Kindergarten. One of the greatest moments of the past school year was permanently bringing together all of our K-8 students onto the Mission campus, a milestone that has cemented our path towards the future. With all of our elementary and middle schoolers together, we have laid the foundation to fulfill our dream of building the first Reggio Emilia inspired K-8 school in North America, which will be so much more than just a building: environment transcends mere space and setting – it’s a teacher that plays an essential role in your child’s education and in their future.

The generosity of our community shined brightly this year! We held our most successful La Dolce Vita gala ever, and danced and laughed together while raising funds committed directly towards the school’s Sliding Scale Tuition Fund that supports our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging goals in addition to bolstering our outstanding arts and sciences programs. Our Annual Fund reached new heights as well, providing essential support to our faculty and staff for competitive compensation and access to exceptional professional development opportunities, while taking our program from sustainable to thriving. Additionally, our Silicon Valley campus opened its doors, all with the generous support of a local donor, and we have welcomed our founding families to this incredible campus.

We take great pride in the community that La Scuola has fostered. It is with the dedication of our volunteers – from our Board of Directors, PALS, La Dolce Vita, and all parent committees – and the support of the Annual Fund that we are able to ensure that our students, faculty, and administration continue to thrive and be open to the world.
