Bus Station Reuse
Year: 2023
Type: thesis work
Location: Eger, HU
In the recent years, Eger has raised the idea of creating an intermodal hub, which would consolidate Eger’s transport infrastructure, including bus transport. This has prompted me to delve deeper into the question of what will happen to the existing bus station building when it moves from its current location.
Based on both the problems encountered (traffic overload) and my research in spatial analysis and urban studies, I have concluded that a function that serves both the needs of tourism and the needs of the city’s residents would work best. In addition, it would be integrated into the downtown environment and take advantage of the landscape.
The planned function is a tourist hub that is both linked to the planned intermodal hub to allow easy access for visitors to Eger and also acts as an ‘origin’ where the city’s tourist infrastructure is concentrated. In addition, I have added features that provide an interactive introduction for visitors to Eger, familiarising them with its attractions, local history and wine culture. It also serves as an occasional event venue to enrich the lives of visitors and locals.
The functions required are an arrival area, where the tourinform and waiting area is located, and their supporting functions. In addition, there is an underground car park, which the city centre has long needed, a wine bar where visitors can refresh themselves and an observation tower for an interactive introduction to Eger.
Massage Salon Interior
Year: 2021
Type: interior design course
Location: Győr, HU
The theme of the semester was the design of a ground floor shop in a romantic style listed building. The functions were defined based on a specific word, which in my case was derived from the notion of Pannonhalma, and my client defined a relaxation massage salon as the space to be designed. Pannonhalma is the name of a town in Hungary, famous for its Benedictine abbey and lavender cultivation.
My first impression of such a function is the relaxed and friendly atmosphere, which itself promotes relaxation for the guest. However, cleanliness and an environment that suggests sterility, as a legitimate demand from both staff and guests, are also defining characteristics of a place of this kind. In my reading, the space should express the intertwining of these two sensations (in addition to the impeccable fulfilment of the function) and create links with the initial notion.
Sacral Building
Year: 2021
Type: complex design course
Location: Győr, HU
The theme of the semester was based on a vision of Győr (Hungary) in 50 years’ time. What will be the social division, infrastructure, urban density, etc. The development focused on the area around the Rába river.
My individual design brief was to create a future-oriented sacral building that would serve the God-seeking inhabitants of the Rába-adjacent district envisioned by my team, in the spirit of ecumenism. And in addition to religious congregations, it also provides a place for individual religious practice. The building also functions as a community centre and lecture theatre. It can also be used as a venue for meetings and community events, thanks to its adaptable furnishings.
The building was formed from one wing of the surrounding, framed block of buildings. The layout of the functions is based on two aspects, one being accessibility, with the much-used and communal functions on the ground floor and the less used and more private functions on the first floor. The other aspect was the separation of sacred and ‘secular’ functions, so that liturgical rooms were also grouped together, as were communal and other functions. Two blocks of buildings were formed, interrupted by a small inner courtyard, around which a cloister is organised, from which each function is revealed.

Photography is one of my greatest passions, and it has been since I was a teenager. In my spare time I like to do it and learn new things about it. I have had many paid assignments, but I also take photos for friends or help them with editing just for fun. I think it’s also closely related to architecture and many concepts can be derived from one another, whether it’s composition, light, texture or point of view.
Rendering stuck with me during university, it was always my favourite workphase at the end of design. It’s extremely good at conveying the atmosphere of a designed building or interior with a well thought-out image, and it helps to make the design more understandable. It’s also closely related to photography and image editing, so again, it’s something I like to do in my spare time, as well as for assignments.
