Filled with information about things to do, see, taste and experience in and around Milwaukee, the Passport can be used to explore the city during your time at Marquette.

As with any urban environment, safety can be a concern, and Milwaukee is no exception. If you are alert and follow a few simple rules, you’ll be able to enjoy all that Milwaukee has to offer at all hours.
SAFETY IN THE CITY
u Be aware of your surroundings. u Express yourself with confidence and control. u Trust your instincts. Your gut reactions are often a good gauge of the relative safety of an area. Let your roommates and friends know where you are and a rough estimate of when you’ll return. This way, if something does happen to you, there are people who can try to reach you or seek the proper assistance. u Don’t go alone. There is safety in numbers, and you’ll feel and be safer by walking, running and exploring with a friend rather than by yourself. u Take well-lit paths when walking at night. The better lit the area, the better chance that you’ll be able to assess your surroundings. u Have your keys/MUID ready before entering your residence hall or apartment. u Take advantage of the services that the Marquette Department of Public Safety has to offer. These include: u L.I.M.O. service from 5:30 p.m. until 3 a.m. (DPS will give rides until 7:30 a.m.) u Safety Patrol Service (“Yellow Jackets”) from 5:30 p.m. until 2 a.m. u After Hours (later than 3 a.m.) Public Safety Squad Service u Blue Light Phones on and around the Marquette campus to provide 24 hour direct access to the Department of Public Safety For additional information and safety tips, visit www.marquette.edu/dps

U-PASS
Marquette students can receive a U-PASS, which provides students with unlimited use of the Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS). The pass enables you to ride the bus at any time of the day, seven days a week, and is very convenient with roughly 65 routes throughout Milwaukee County. To ride the bus you must show your MUID along with your U-PASS.
