Return to Romney Marsh
The Latin Mass Society returned for the sixth time to the small medieval church of St Augustine on Romney Marsh in Kent. Built in the 13th century, the church was probably established from St Augustine’s Abbey in Canterbury. It became redundant in 1883 and is now in the care of the Romney Marsh Historic Churches Trust, who very kindly allow us to use it each year. The Trust has care of 14 medieval churches and 4 ruins. For more details of the day, see Marygold Turner’s report on page 24.
