A series of mood boards gathering inspiration from street style features in magazines, clothing websites, instagram and Pinterest. Embroidery stood out at the beginning as a technique I wanted to explore further.

As well as taking into consideration the possible styling, I explored ways I could manipulate an image, primarily the face using both digitally and hand-rendered techniques.

For Personal Professional Practice we were given an exciting live brief for Urban Outfitters; create a fashion illustration or style a photo shoot for a zine that would be sold and exhibited in the store. I chose to do something a little different, steering away from just an illustration, or just a photo shoot and decided to fuse them, submitting a combination as a photo montage. Whilst looking through various trends I could incorporate into my piece, their compositions and different techniques; embroidery really interested me from the beginning of my research.

I organised and styled a photoshoot, using a traditional film camera, hand developing the images myself. I wanted the shoot to be in a relatively dingy area and shot using black and white film to contrast with the vibrancy of my cross-stitched floral design.
