DESIGNER & FINE ARTIST As a graphic design and fine art student I have struggled and grown through the two mediums. It is a battle to bring two subjects that are different, in many ways, together. Through my illustrations I combine the two subjects. I have a passion for painting, book covers, animations, putting together ad campaigns, and working with interactive design. I find these things enjoyable, thrilling, and motivating. It is important to me to put everything I am into my projects no matter how big or small. I possess an internal drive to succeed and accomplish the goals that are set before me. The drive I have will always be used to its fullest in the workplace along with a strong desire to learn new things, meet every deadline in a timely manner and strive for excellence and growth in my capabilities.

COLLEGE
NARRATIVE // interactive application
College is an interactive application that was created for college students. The goal was to interview an ideal user and develop an application based on their needs. The simplicity of College was ideal for the busy college student. College helps students stay up to date with grades, meetings, homework, and notifications. The application connects to the college’s educational system such as Blackboard or L.M.S. and automatically updates the student’s information on the app. This sidesteps the tedious process of entering in homework assignments and notes. This app can also be used to avoid showing up to class when class is canceled. Important information like that can now go immediately to your phone.

KIDKNOW
NARRATIVE // interactive application
Kidknow is a receptive vocabulary application designed to help children with autism. The project challenge was to create an application that was educational, engaging, and fun. To accomplish this goal, I designed a character Kidknow, and his sidekick Pecki. Through character design and extensive research, multiple outlets developed. Kidknow is a learning game with a positive reward system. Trading cards were developed to enforce interactive behavior with other children and the teacher. The game, “Go Nuts is a reinforcement for time-spent learning. A preferences section for teachers to indivdualize the application for each student is also included.

JIM HANLEY’S UNIVERSE
NARRATIVE // website redesign
Jim Hanley’s Universe is a comic book store in Manhattan, NY. The challenge for this project was to find a website to redesign. Jim Hanley’s Universe has a lot of competition in New York so the solution I developed was for the company to have mascots to stand out from the competition. Jim, Hanley, and Uni were created to decorate and promote customer loyalty to Jim Hanley’s Universe. The website was redesigned to be more user friendly. A navigation bar was added, and the site was created using a comic book grid. Many fans that visit the site will find it familiar to the layouts of comic books they read.

LOST NOMAD BREWING CO.
NARRATIVE // brand identity
Lost Nomad Brewing Company is a new up-andcoming microbrewery owned by Scott Denhart in Rochester, NY. The goal of the project was to give the company a brand identity. It was Scott’s preference to design the logo and colors, orange and blue, to match the Chicago Bears sports team. The logo’s compass communicates the idea of direction. The colors and the wooden wheel are meant to represent the Denhart family. The packaging and branding manual stay true to the blue-collar theme of the brand.

GAME OF THRONES
NARRATIVE // campaign
Game of Thrones is an original TV series on HBO based on a book written by George R. R. Martin in 1991. The goal was to advertise for the premiere of season 4. The three dragons in the story influenced the logo and colors designed for the campaign. #RIDETHEDRAGON is the campaign’s main marketing development designed to advertise three retired navy jet planes painted as the three dragons touring across the USA and landing in three major cities. A lucky winner who participated in the #RIDETHEDRAGON will have a chance to fly in one of the jets in each city. Jewelry and soda advertisements were also created to advocate for the campaign.

DICK BLICK ART MATERIALS
NARRATIVE // campaign
Dick Blick Art Materials is an art store that is known for shipping quickly. The goal of the project was to create a campaign advertising the company’s speed and high quality products. Through three magazine ads using the fastest animals such as a cheetah, falcon, and sailfish the campaign uses a light-hearted illustrated theme to portray Dick Blick’s high quality, fast shipping. The campaign also includes a commercial advocating that with the click of a button your shipment will be right at your door.
COMMERCIAL The Dick Blick Art Materials commercial promotes their high quality products and the companies fast shipping. To view the video please visit: www.lkcdesigns.com/dickblickcommercial.html
EASY ACCESS
NARRATIVE // interactive application
Easy Access is an application that allows the user to plug in their phone to any device and the app logs them into all their accounts online. The goal was to make a simple and clean app that would help save users time when logging into websites. Easy Access will be able to connect to an iPad or computer. The user will use finger scanning to unlock the app and the app will log the user into all the user’s websites. The app will allow the user to turn websites on and off. When the phone is unplugged from the computer the app will log the user out of all the applications.

FINE ART
NARRATIVE // paintings
Individual beliefs, events in time, and historical figures inspire me. I create work to commemorate, celebrate, and express individual’s lives. Every painting I work on I have a personal attachment to the figure, whether they be a representation of a historical person or if they are the actual models. There is sensibility in their posture, eyes, and expression that we as human beings can relate to. I paint beautiful individuals. Not in the sense of their outward beauty but what they represent on the inside. All my models are, in my opinion, exceptional people. I feel they should be remembered and celebrated. The finished painting has a personality about it that an inanimate object could not, like applying and personifying an emotion to a blank canvas. Oil paint takes time to dry like a relationship takes time to build; using this medium has helped me explore a new range of colors and expressions that my models project.
