01 DRAFTING
The analysis of Telfair Square, one of the most well known square’s in Savannah, shows Olgelthrope’s basic organizational unit set up for the city. Although he considered his plan a failure at the time, it would later be considered one of the most successful urban planning designs. This study observes the square on a macro to micro scale and ends the journey with a critical analysis of the Jepson Center, one of the most controversial buildings in Savannah.

Mark and Julie Maroney CONCEPT Clients Mark and Julie were starting a new life and journey together as newlyweds. In the near future, they both envision starting a family. The concept for this project was a snail’s shell. The shell created a sustainable living environment that had the ability to adapt with growth as well as accommodate specific needs. This is exactly the environment that the clients needed. Through the exploration of the shell , its characteristics were applied to space planning, furniture selections and materials creating the ideal space for Mark and Julie.

MATERIALS 06MATERIALS 07
Exploration of materials in new application methods was exercised in this study. The Moroccan styled tiles would be used in a vertical surface application and would be composed of reclaimed wood which contained a metal insert. The combination of the contrasting materials creates visual interest in any space. The material board is an example of the other elements that could accompany this piece in the ideal space.
07 LIGHTING
Through this lighting study, models were created in order to simulate different lighting techniques such as grazing, washing and backlighting. It allowed the students to better understand the process behind creating these techniques in interior spaces. It also challenged them to come up with new innovative concepts in which to execute these theories.
