SANTA FÉ NEIGHBOURHOOD- ANÁLISIS

S A N TA F ร NEIGHBOURHOOD Verรณnica

Granados

HISTORY With a name that reminds us of a glorious time, the town of Santa Fe, located in the heart of the capital, tells us about its struggling origins, its tumultuous streets and the travellers who pass through it every day to do business, go shopping, work or simply have a cup of coffee. It owes its name to the vivid memories that Don Gonzalo JimĂŠnez de Quesada, founder of the capital of New Granada, had about his beloved municipality Santa Fe, in Spain. Due to its prodigious location, it brings together thousands of "passing by" inhabitants in the hundreds of shops, cultural centres, restaurants and churches and is a meeting place for bohemians, poets, hippies and painters, who, inspired by its traditional corners, produce the finest masterpieces. Likewise, it is no secret that the difficult environment in this sector is caused by the so-called "Zone of Tolerance", which allows the legal practice of prostitution within this area, and thus, a stereotype about this neighborhood, then I will show the beauty that hides and is oppressed by these concept.

This collection of images is about people who live and inhabit the environment of this neighborhood, what we want to achieve through this is to find patterns of clothing, features and physical elements such as furniture. After the material interest in the photos, there is also a metaphorical interest, which is to show the dark tones that remain in the lives of these people, because of poverty, or discrimination, and this neighborhood is their refuge.
