ground explores the gentle introduction to spring. Instead of full bloomed trees, I focus on new leaves, saturated with washes of lime sprouting slowly from entangled branches. I use a limited color palette to evoke a warm nostalgia that feels earthy and grounded.
The full growth of summer is coming, but I want to sit in this season for a while. I'll soak in the soft, sweeping branches & dappled, dancing light before the fresh foliage turns from chartreuse to emerald. The whisper of a warmer season is in the air and bare branches are reaching up from the ground, yearning for redemption. This season goes quickly, but this ground is where I'll bask until it's end.

Laurel-Dawn graduated from Auburn University with a BFA in graphic design with a strong focus in fine art. She has been working in the design field for over 10 years and painting in the margins of her chaotic and beautiful life as a wife and mother. In 2020, Laurel-Dawn took the leap into being a fine artist, full time.
Laurel-Dawn has always drawn inspiration from the lines made from her Creator; the natural lines of a rigid mountainside, or the dramatic curves seen in leaves and flower petals. She strives to glorify beauty that already exists from her small corner of the world; embracing the delicate, yet messy process of being an artist.
Laurel-Dawn currently resides in Homewood, Alabama with her husband and two boys.
