Residential Design

A residential remodel with an Additional Dwelling Unit (ADU). The corner-lot placement of the home allowed for the home s entrance to be relocated to emphasize the location. Using the client s descriptions of the uses of each room, a program analysis of the first level was created. The high use spaces were the smaller spaces in the home. The focus with the new redesign was to proportionally allocate larger spaces with high use areas. This moved the kitchen to the back of the house with views of the backyard. Moving the entrance to the house created a beautiful large front patio and upon entering, a welcoming living room with windows to the golf course behind the home.

Master Bathroom

Focused on a creating a space of luxury and storage in a previously outdated bathroom. The focus of the room is a classic clawfoot tub and overhead shower, centering the countertops from it. Adding another sink was a must-have for the clients, who previously had to make to with one. Using marble and classic colors, the space comes together as a classic escape.

Additional Dwelling Unit

The Kiowa Residence has a separate garage with no direct door into the main house. This is a prime location for the guest house the clients are asking for. The main use of the ADU will be for visiting family members or as a rentable Air-BNB. Knowing the main users of this space would be from out of town, we went with the concept of an Arizona sunset, one of the most beautiful attractions we have here. This allowed for the design to stay simple with lots of white marble and clean walls. The main design feature of the unit is the stained glass window on the wall connecting the kitchenette and the bathroom. With windows and lights on both sides of the wall, the simple space will always be alive with the colors of the bright Arizona sunset to welcome guests.
