About : Lauren Romeo

I am a Philadelphia native who was raised within the Arts. From an intrinsic passion for Music and Dance, to a proclivity and reverence for Illustration and Design, my most honest form of self-expression has always been with my hands. I wish to take my next step in a place where I can immerse in an energy that speaks to and influences my own.

Inspired by the 100K Houses in Kensington, Radiant Heat Flooring is used throughout the building. Radiant Heat Flooring provides several advantages for tenants. Perfect for the aspiring artist, it is a costeffective way of heating a space. Installed below the floor, it allows more room in each unit for the artist’s craft. Since it heats a room from the ground up, it functions at half the temperature of the traditional radiator.

The Wood Block Structure is based on the study of Peter Zumthor’s “Swiss Sound Box”. In contrast to Zumthor’s temporary pavilion, it functions as a permanent structure. Unique in assembly, the wall is held together without any adhesives or traditional fasteners.

PROJECT: Paperbox Sessions PRODUCER: CHOWMOTO ARTIST: Bad.Mood.Randall VIDEOGRAPHER: Eric Tsurumoto ASSEMBLY ASSISTANCE: Madeline McKenna Chowmoto consists of Philadelphia-based videographers Eric Tsurumoto and Kaitlin Chow. Paperbox Sessions was inspired by NPR’s Tiny Desk Concerts, and is a project that seeks to highlight the growing music community in Philadelphia. This episode featured Bad.Mood.Randall, whose eclectic style is a fusion of Electronic Dance Music, R&B, and Soul. When Bad.Mood.Randall commissioned a backdrop for the video and photoshoot, the requirements included an inhabitable structure that matched the rustic nature of the room we were to film in. The installation consisted of cardboard tubes with varying dimensions and materials, covered with different combinations of spray paint, wire, and grout, connected by wooden dowels.
