INCA EMPIRE
In Peru, the Incas were a small tribe among multiple others. They had a limited domain that did not extend far beyond Cuzco. They were in a constant state of battling with their neighboring tribes. Despite their small size, the sudden expansion of the Inca empire was one of the most notable events in Peruvian and human history. Internal conflicts further complicated their situation. The indigenous people, who had been suffering from oppressive taxation and enforced labor since the conquest, revolted in 1780 under the leadership of Túpac Amaru II. Túpac Amaru II was a wealthy and educated man and a descendant of the last Inca emperor. The revolt quickly spread throughout Peru and into Upper Peru and Ecuador. Although Túpac Amaru II was captured and executed in 1781, the indigenous people continued to fight the Spaniards until 1783, causing significant disruption. This rebellion was one of the largest and most prolonged uprisings against Spanish colonial rule. In the late 18th and early 19th centuries, Peru underwent a period of intellectual development, which was the result of the influence of utilitarian ideas of the European Enlightenment. These ideas were brought to Peru through books and by European participants in scientific expeditions in 1778 and 1793. This period of intellectual development played a significant role in shaping Peru's culture and society.

While it may sound unusual, cuy has been a staple of Peruvian cuisine since the time of the Inca Empire. For those with a sweet tooth, you must try Suspiro de Limeña, a dessert that is particularly popular in the Lima region of Peru. This creamy, rich dessert is made with sweetened condensed milk, egg yolks, and port wine, and is topped with a soft meringue. The name of the dessert translates to "sigh of the lady from Lima," and it is said to have been created in the 19th century.

ENVIRONMENT PRESERVATION
Over the last few years, Peru has taken many significant steps in its efforts to reduce carbon emissions originating from forestry and land use. This has been achieved through the expansion of protected areas and indigenous reserves, as well as taking strong measures to combat illegal logging and mining practices in the Amazon region. These efforts reflect the country's commitment to lessening the effects of climate change and preserving the natural environment.
HOW DOES THE PHYSICAL LANDSCAPE OR ENVIRONMENT OF PERU AFFECT THE PEOPLE AND HOW DO PEOPLE SHAPE THE ENVIRONMENT?
The physical landscape of Peru has a weighty influence on the people living there. Peru has a very varied physical landscape including, the Andes mountains, the Amazon rainforest, and the Pacific coast. All of these details influence the climate, resources, transportation, and agriculture. The harsh terrain of the mountains can stunt agricultural growth, and make transportation formidable. In contrast, the fertile soil of the Amazon rainforest provides ideal conditions for agriculture, but the dense jungle can make it difficult to build infrastructure without destroying the ecosystem. People in Peru have also altered the environment around them. For centuries, indigenous communities, such as the Incas, have used traditional techniques to produce crops and manage natural resources. However, modern Peru's rapid economic growth has led to increased deforestation and pollution, which has hurt the environment and the health of the people living there. Although, Peru is attempting to try and lessen the pollution and contain the deforestation of the Amazon.
