It was 1998 and I had just won first place for "Story Telling" at the middle school regional theater/speech competition. I was flabbergasted, but knew I had just ventured down a long road of storytelling ahead of me. My love for storytelling has continued, just through the lens of my camera. My curiosity for capturing moments began at a young age. Though I learned to shoot on film while studying photography at Texas Christian University, I now shoot everything digitally. It’s a photographic documentary of one day in your life. For those who just want to make some great pictures on location or in my Downtown Lake Oswego studio, a standard portrait session is great. Since I am a documentary family photographer, approx 20 min is alloted to relaxed portraits; the rest of the time is for your family to have fun while I document more candid lifestyle images.

Your Style Clothing choices can really make a session. For the Day Sessions - be true to yourself and be comfortable. For all other sessions where there are more formal photos it’s nice to coordinate and be intentional with your attire. Be sure to plan your outfits completely a few days before your session. W H AT I S T H E C O S T O F T R AV E L ? Travel is included with the Signature Day Session! If you are investing in another session and if I’m staying in your home and you arrange transportation at the airport, the only travel expense is the plane ticket. If you’d prefer I stay in a hotel &/or rent a car those expenses will be added.

W H AT I F I ( O R M Y S P O U S E , K I D S , E T C . . . ) D O N ’ T L I K E B E I N G I N F R O N T O F T H E C A M E R A ? It’s ok. It can feel awlward in front of the camera, but hopefully you won’t feel that way during my sessions. Most of my clients who feel this way choose to invest in one of my DAY SESSIONS. It’s much more relaxed and you even forget I’m there sometimes. That’s one of the great things about spending time together duinrg the Day Sessions, we move past the awkward & camera aware phases to those moments when you’re connecting with each other & forgetting about the camera.

THE STUDIO
The beautiful 1,000 square foot studio is located in the heart of Downtown Lake Oswego, Oregon (just outside Portland). The space is equipped with a shooting area, a meeting area, a prop area, a kids station, an office, and a bathroom. The shooting area is quite versatile. We can use either studio lights or natural day light. We can also set up a seamless backdrop of choice, or use the moveable white wooden wall.

The kid station is great to sit & play at during mom & dad’s viewing/order session. If you need to change your child’s diaper, there’s a station for that, too! I like to keep it simple, but have a great selection of props for your in studio session. Though, not all my sessions are shot in studio it’s a great option! I look forward to visiting with you at my studio!
