evolution of Wren

Things want to learn during my degree:! -  I want to fall back in love with drawing, I've found that sometimes I go for weeks without drawing because of creative blocks." " -  I want to be able to draw every day and enjoy it." - I would like to refine my practice, I find it difficult at the minute to make a piece of work look finished and polished."

1st Year

nd 2 Year Things I want to know more about this year:! -  I want to stop being scared of screen printing" -

Organise my time better."

-

Figure out what area of illustration I want to go into, if at all, do I want to print? Do I want to write? Do I want to bum around and draw pretty things all day?"

2nd year work

rd 3 Year -  Build a small collection of prints and various works to sell and make an Etsy." " -  - Become proud of my work, maybe have a little belief. " " -  Draw more, maybe even doodle, I believe this should always be an aim. " " -  Keep on top of my website, maybe link a blog to it so I can post more regularly, including sketches and things I've discovered. I always find this helpful when researching artists. " " -  Try work on a bigger scale, I feel that the Live Drawing that goes on around Leeds is amazing, but I can never figure out how to scale my work up." "

-  My first big commission" -  A learning curve for re-invoicing when using my work without permission" -  An exercise in how to not get paid" -  I got to see a stranger wearing my work."

High and Lonesome Festival

From High and Lonesome I managed to get another 3 commissions through social media, and was able to expand the birds into stand alone prints for my Etsy."

Expanding

Melt Trip -  Large scale work." -  To a brief set by a client." -  Collaborating with different media artists." -  Seeing my work absolutely huge across a warehouse." -  All round good fun."

Oddfellows Tattoo Collective This is where I live now, I’ve been lucky enough to have been offered an Appren<ceship in Ta=ooing when I leave here in June, which is the first step into the career I have craved for years. I am incredibly grateful.

The future

1 year out -  Have completed the 1st year of my apprenticeship.! ! -  Don't contract any blood-borne viruses (through learning about crosscontamination and clinical waste)! ! - Don't starve (Have a sustainable income)!

5 year out -  Be a fully qualified tattooist." " -  Travel Europe as a guest artist in tattoo shops." " -  Have enough free time to dedicate at least one morning per week to a sanctuary." " - Continue illustrative practice that runs concurrently with my tattooing."

worry -  Money." " -  Not keeping up my practice and loosing momentum." " -  Having to work so much to support myself (i.e. in a bar) that I don't have enough time to be a creative." " -  Relying too much on one opportunity (i.e. apprenticeship) that could fall through." " -  Trying and failing, and falling flat." " -  Ending up in debt."

It will all be okay

Thank You
