Comedy bits for December Lauren Folkes

To permeate a feel-good vibe throughout the room seems to be what he does best. He inspires big laughs to the crowds that attend his shows. His chemistry.com commercial and his interpretation of Aflack commercials won me over while introducing his humorous bent. Voted as the ‘Happiest Comic in America’ by NBC’s Last Comic Standing and ‘Comedian of the Year’ by Maxim Magazine, Little has been creating buzz around his acts and earning national recognition. The comic quit his job with IBM to pursue his passion and share stories such as how kids in elementary school would say unkind things at the
lunch table, namely; “Let go of my sandwich!” (roblittle.com). Having trained at the worldfamous Second City Comedy Club gives Little a leg up over others. Plus, his natural ability creates unique and sometimes spontaneous skits. The jocular smile never seems to leave his face while he moves around like a happy bear. Catch Little stirring up trouble on Fox’s the “Best Damn Sports Show Period,” and see him live this month; just know his wild energy is highly contagious.

Let’s get down to funny business. Mike Green, a Michigan-based comedian, is one of the most requested nationwide. Older fans may know him as oreo man; a title taken from a hilarious childhood experience and the name of his website. Judging from his dense list of accolades—the 2007 winner of the Las Vegas Comedy Festival and the New York Comedy Expo Best Comedian, to name two, this guy knows just how to work the crowd. While developing his act that he performs in 48 states, Green worked with comedic giants such as Jerry Seinfeld and Tim Allen. His routines work as ostensibly improvisational, even if he has rehearsed the material. Green’s name is on the tongue of every comedy enthusiast these days and will rope you in with original lines that are even funnier because of his occasionally squeaky voice and animated facial expressions. His latest CD/DVD entitled Holy %@#! I’m Funny is out now, but nothing beats a live performance. Take advantage of the opportunity this month at Connxtions.
