JIll Plants a Seed

Written by Blair Westfahl Illustrated by Lauren Rice

One Spring day, while the sun was bright, Jill planted a seed.

She got out her shovel. She dug a small hole.

She set the seed in that hole and covered it up.

Next, Jill gave her seed some water.

Jill took very good care of the seed and and gave it everything it needed to grow.

Water, sun, time. Water, sun, time. Water, sun, time.

One day, Jill went out and saw something green poking out of the ground.

Was this her seed?

Over the next few days, Jill watched her new plant grow.

Water, sun, time. Water, sun, time. Water, sun, time.

Before long, Jill’s plant had become a beautiful flower!

Jill wanted to give her flower some friends, so she planted more seeds to make sure her flower was never alone.

Before long, Jill had a garden full of beautiful, happy flowers!
