The Project A 17 days bicycle surf trip along the French Atlantic shores from the 4th of October till the 21st of October. From Biarritz and its iconic “Cote des Basques till the little village of Penmarch and its famous beach of La Torche in Britanny, it represents a total distance of 1000 kilometers
Why? - Because France hosts some of the best surf breaks in the world - Because after travelling around the globe, and entering our thirties we realized maybe it was time to discover our own country potential and terroir - Because we want to meet people, local surf communities and visit our friends - Because we want to experience a different way of travelling - Because everybody secretly have a deep passion for heated canned raviolis around a camp fire - Because we want to prove ourselves we’re real boys who can deal with sore legs at the end of the day and fixing flat tires under the rain
Where? Of course our final zone surf checks will depend of the forecasts during our trip but we plan to have a look at the surf oportunities in the following areas: - Northern Landes - Northern Medoc - The “Cote Sauvage - Oleron Island - St Gilles Croix de Vie and La Tranche sur Mer - Searching along the Britanny creeks and beaches The good point, by this time of the year, most of those zones present many back up options and sheltered beaches in case of stormy conditions as well as high quality and under rated surf breaks. Our friends will help us to find the best conditions we can expect and be part of our adventure as we want to involve local surf communities in our search.

Video Coverage: We’ll carry on our trip our video/photo gear and we’ll capture all the moments, the good and the bad, so we can share our experience. This is gonna be an intense trip, all the content will be carefully edited and spread after the trip in order to fit with our experience, our feelings, we really want to tell a true and authentic story. For the moment we haven’t decided about what we will do with the video. No matter if it is a 28 minutes documentary, a 8 min short film or some 3min webisodes, the only thing we really care about is awsomeness. So regarding to the content we will bring back from our journey we will make the right choice to make it happen! International Surf film Festival team is already interested by the project. We’ll start negociation soon with Surf Session for a special DVD offer released with the article in case of a short documentary Filmer: Arthur & Laurent + extra filmers Editing: Arthur
Photography Coverage: With all the photos taken by Laurent along the road, we will try to get as much coverage as we can in European surf press. Surf Session has already confirmed the publication of our adventure in one of their next issue. The major asset of this project is mixing outdoor and surfing, as a consequence we also target publications in outdoor and main mass medias. The goal of this project is also to make it grow, to give him a second life after our return and to organize a serie of photography exhibitions along the coast, in collaboration with our partners who will be interested. Those exhibits will be a good opportunity to increase the coverage within the local surf communities.
