Birdseye of Transfarm
The Transfarm is based on research of allotments and Russian Dacha gardening people to grow their own food. Allotments and dachas are independent forms of farming, while there are rules to follow, they also operate as an anarchist system without authority. Rules exist but these are self-organized communities. The Transfarm offers a refuge from urban living and proposes a new, self organized allotment-style farming community. It resizes a flexible, adaptable landscape that integrates agriculture and data at a micro-scale. It is located in a rezoned Holstein Beef Farm just 24 miles outside the city of Galway on the route of a high-speed transatlantic fiber optic cable. It offers plots and a variety of small Legume cabins to rent. 75% of the allotment plot is dedicated to agricultural production, 50% of which must be legumes. How to farm the remaining 25%, as well as the design of the plot, and the interior of their cabin are up to each user. 5

Site
Ireland’s cattle industry is responsible for 32% of its greenhouse gas emissions and are among the highest in Europe. The Transfarm is located in a rezoned Holstein Beef farm, 24 mi. outside the city of Galway on route of a high-speed transatlantic fiber optic cable.

Ordered v. Self-Organized Society
The Transfarm is based on research of allotments and Russian Dacha gardening. They are independent forms of farming, but there are rules to follow. While rules exist, these are selforganized communities.
Animal v. Plant Based Protein
The Transfarm proposes a rezoning of land away from animal farming to plant-based protein production using legumes, a type of vegetable that includes beans, peas, and lentils that are rich in protein.
Big-Box v. Distributed Data
Data storage is distributed across the lots in the Transfarm and are connected by a fiber optic cable. 6 TRANSFARM: AGRICULTURE AND ANARCHY

Living to Garden Relationship
The cabin is also divided into 4ths and designed with different living to garden proportions which create various lifestyles like living in a hallway with a big garden or a big living space with a garden hallway.
Data Location
These are located in the ground and conceived as infrastructure and heat for the cabin and gardens as well as a new economic and political model for storage where data can be owned and managed by people in the community.

CABIN IN THE WOODS: A REFUGE FROM URBAN LIVING 2020| (IM) PERFECTION INSTRUCTOR| DAN WHEELER UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS AT CHICAGO

North Elevation
A Cabin in the Woods is a refuge from urban living. The intent is to create a linear series of compact, light weight, free-standing workspaces for artists who are invited to stay for a year. Although the project involved three workspaces, each one are identical. The only variable that changes is the color and art inside of each one. Ultimately, a Cabin in the Woods explores the illusion of self-design and how the variations of space is dependent on the person, not the “designer”.

Interior exploded axonometric of chapel and restaurant
This casino is a stacked city where peoples’ fictional desires like fame, fortune, and adventure are seen and performed. Drawing from a range of casino architecture, the projects’ overlapping volumes and atrium space reorganizes its labyrinth qualities from plan to section. Object oriented rooms cantilevers over another and produces spaces that are visible from a distance; also known as a stages. The casinos’ circulation is contained in the BOH, and depending on the subject's destination there is a specific route they have to take like a maze. The parking entrance is a long corridor and is connected to the underground parking. Its shape mimics the casino atrium to act as a counterweight and visually extend the project underground. The pool is divided based on the type of swimmer: a leisure swimmer, a competitive swimmer, and a deep diver. Each stage is shaped so it frames the geometry of the pool and hotel spaces and pool locker rooms are visually connected by the opening in the center; producing several stages between each floor. Overall, the stacking and overlapping of volumes offer an irregular network of spaces, which generate a stage where each ritual of the casino is performed. Concept diagram

The Carthusian monks live a life of self-discipline and worship. Although they live a life of solitude, they all share the same values and contribute to the monastery. This monastery has a linear system where spaces are excavated to reflect a particular ritual of the Carthusian monk like an oval is carved out for their prayer room. In the project, light enters through dome shaped skylight that create a spotlight effect which defines what happens in each space. Drawing from centuries of monastic architecture, this project explores new spatial potentials of the symbiotic relationship between solitude and togetherness.
