A new web site!
In March, inMotion’s new, greatly expanded, bilingual web site was launched. With it we hope to build an ever-stronger community of support for low-income and abused women living in New York City who need access to free legal services and other crucial resources.
We have created an information-packed site with clear navigation and accessible content for our many audiences. No matter who you are—an abused mother seeking custody of your child—a lawyer interested in providing pro bono support—a student looking for internship opportunities—a donor wanting to learn how we will use your dollars to transform lives—you will find comprehensive information about how to get help, volunteer or support our work. New Junior Advisory Board
2007 Photography Auction & Benefit
InMotion welcomes our new Junior Advisory Board members. Formed in June, the group will work to expand inMotion’s network of young professional volunteers and donors.
On March 19th more than 1,100 guests joined us at the Waldorf=Astoria to celebrate 14 years of providing free legal and social services to protect women and children living in domestic crisis. Our most successful fundraising event to date, this year’s Photography Auction & Benefit raised a record $2.1 million. We honored Arthur B. Newman, senior managing director, The Blackstone Group, with our Justice inMotion Award. Michael Goldstein, retired chairman & CEO, Toys “R” Us; Darla Moore, vice president, Rainwater, Inc.; Peter G. Peterson, senior chairman and co-founder, The Blackstone Group; and Philip T. Ruegger III, chairman, executive committee, Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, were our honorary co-chairs. Their leadership and commitment helped us expand our network of financial support. Our long-time friend, Denise Bethel, senior vice president and director, photographs, Sotheby’s, led the photography auction bidding to new heights. Under the leadership of Carla Hendra, co-CEO Ogilvy North America, a brilliant interactive team helped us reinvent ourselves online. In layman’s terms, they developed the electronic filing system for our information and then designed a filing cabinet that’s visually compelling and easy to use—sounds quite simple, but it was a heroic undertaking and remarkable accomplishment.
