Cincinnati College of Law The Cincinnati College of Law is one of the oldest law colleges in the United States of America which boasts of a rich faculty, scholars and students. The Cincinnati College of Law which started in the year 1833 is one of the oldest schools in the United States. This school of law was founded by the Association of American Law Schools. The Cincinnati Law College is one of the other five colleges that produced both a president of United States, William Howard Taft and two judges of the Supreme Court that included Willis Van Devanter and Taft again. The College of Law at the University of Cincinnati is the fourth oldest law school in the nation. The college offers the best legal education and has a rich curriculum. Students who graduate from this law school have a thorough knowledge about all key aspects of law and legal concepts along with legal skills and experience. Only the best students get the chance to study in the Cincinnati College of Law. In the year 2007, the number of applicants was 1,293. Only 454 among them got admissions, and the final matriculations were 120. The law college provides a day program for full time students only. To apply to the College of Law, each applicant is required to complete the regular decision application completely. If any information is not disclosed as asked in the application, it will be rejected. Furthermore, the college does not consider any
application as complete until a Character and Fitness Form has been received. Most importantly all applicants must take the LSAT. The University offers a Juris Doctor (JD) Program, Joint Degree Programs and many other Areas of Study. Students who wish to pursue a course in business law, international law, or intellectual property can enhance their skills and educational experience through a variety of areas of study. The rate of students passing the bar examination was 93% in the year 2006. This was the highest pass percentage rate in Ohio. About 96% of the students got placements in the year 2005, after their post graduation. 46% of the graduates are practicing in private, 15% of them are working as clerks in the judicial department and 65% of them are working in Ohio. The Robert S. Marx Library in the Cincinnati College of Law contains 422,146 volumes and 196,995 titles. The computerized library helps to make the searches easier. The classrooms in this law school are also equipped with the latest technological tools. This law college has access to different kinds of journals like the University of Cincinnati Law Review, The Freedom Center Journal or (FCJ), Human Rights Quarterly, and Immigration and Nationality Law Review.
