North Carolina Law Firm Receives 2009 Law Firm Diversity Award By Christine Cristiano The law firm of Womble Caryle Sandridge & Rice PLLC has received the DRI (formerly Defense Research Institute) 2009 Law Firm Diversity Award. One law firm per year that is committed to diversity is honored by receiving the prestigious national award. Womble Caryle Sandridge & Rice was recognized for its efforts in supporting diversity with various programs, including a law school academy for 25 minority college juniors that will prepare the students for law school, a scholar program for 11 minority students high achievers, and the firm’s support of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, which supports 47 historically black colleges and universities nationwide providing merit-based scholarships.
