David Butler - Zelbst, Holmes & Butler’s Newest Partner David Butler joined the firm Zelbst, Holmes & Butler in 2008. His extensive background in many different legal sectors made him an easy choice - and one who was in big demand. His cases cover the realm from civil practice to criminal defense, both on the state and federal levels. We’re proud to include him as this week’s Law Star inductee.
David Butler chose Zelbst, Holmes & Butler as the place to grow his career in 2008. He’s a partner for the firm, located in Lawton, Oklahoma. It recently became the winner of Oklahoma’s Largest Personal Injury Verdict in the amount of $24,000,000 through the dedication and determination of the law firm as a whole; something each partner and staff member is incredibly proud of. Along with David Butler, the firm’s other two partners, John P. Zelbst, the firm’s managing partner and Chandra L. Holmes, give nothing less than their absolute best to each client. Together, the three represent a force to be reckoned with in the Oklahoma legal community. Never limited to the state lines of Oklahoma, the partners and the firm represent victims across the country.
Butler is currently a member of the Comanche County Bar Association, the Oklahoma Bar Association, the Oklahoma Association for Justice and the Gerry Spence trial Lawyer’s College. Most recently, he became a member of the American Association for Justice, which exists to promote a ‘’fair and effective justice system, to support the work of attorneys in their efforts to ensure that any person who is injured by the misconduct or negligence of others can obtain justice in America’s courtrooms, even when taking on the most powerful interests’’ (Justice.org).
David Butler received his degree from the Oklahoma State University in 1994 and received his J.D. in 1997 from the University of Oklahoma. This driven lawyer is indicative of how one really can have it all in terms of an impressive legal career and a full life away from the courtrooms. His presence in his community is more than full and in his opinion, without community, there is no legal foundation.
