Marguerite Lockwood Volunteer of the Year Award
Marguerite Lockwood was one of the founding members of the LMH Auxiliary. She was a long-time volunteer up until her death in 2002. Marguerite was known for her dedication to Same Day Surgery where she was assigned. She was professional and a member of the department. Selection for this award is based on ongoing commitment to volunteering at LMH, maintaining high standards as a volunteer and dedication to their service area.
JAN POLLARD
Jan joined the volunteer ranks in 2000 and began her time with us in the Escort area. She quickly became attached to the Gift Shop and has served there for many years. In the Gift Shop, Jan is one of our talented display volunteers. Anytime that we have new merchandise or a change of seasons, Jan is one of our go-to volunteers to help make the Gift Shop look nice. Jan has also served on the Gift Shop Committee, gone through Tapping Our Leadership and has served as the Gift Shop Committee Chair on the Auxiliary Board. Jan also assisted Kathy, the previous Gift Shop Manager, on buying trips for the Gift Shop and Mario’s Closet. She is currently LMH Health Volunteer President and has served in that role for the past 3 years.
MICHAEL MILLER
Michael began his volunteer time in 2005. He started with volunteer roles on 2 North and Oncology. He volunteered 2 shifts a week for many years. He was a go-to volunteer to train other volunteers on the 2 North role. He was nominated and received volunteer of the Quarter in 2009. He was nominated multiple times in subsequent years by the 2 North staff praising his “can do” attitude, his terrific smile and positive nature. One staff member said that “He brings a lot of joy to our Unit.” Michael is making a difference currently in the Oncology Clinic on Friday mornings. He was in the Tapping Our Leadership class of 2014. In recent years Michael has been a member of and chaired the Scholarship committee and served on the LMH Health Volunteer Board.
