If you ask a Canadian dietitian, they will tell you that healthy eating is not just about what you eat, but also how you eat. In our fast-paced world, “sad desk lunches” are common and 30 per cent of our food budgets are spent on restaurant meals which can have a serious impact on our health. That’s why this Nutrition Month, dietitians are rallying together and encouraging us to enjoy food, to eat meals together and to cook more often.

To help you ease back into healthy habits, Dietitians of Canada has released a new e-book with 12 recipes curated by dietitians. Try delicious, quick-toprepare recipes like Roasted Cauliflower, Farro and Avocado Salad, Peach, Strawberry and Almond Muesli and Easy Lentil Dahl.

Still having trouble breaking old habits? A dietitian can help! “When I meet with clients, we talk about more than food and health; we talk about things like why their culture and food traditions matter, how cooking at home can help them reduce food waste and how to notice when they are hungry and full,” explains Amy Yiu, a dietitian and Nutrition Month Spokesperson. Whether you have a complicated schedule, food intolerances or medical challenges, Nutrition Month is the perfect time to learn how food impacts your health and to connect with a dietitian.
