LBB&P PHILOSOPHY. LET'S GET BACK TO BASICS. LBB&P believe that architecture and design bear a responsibility to preserve the identity of the past while acknowledging the challenges of the future. Across the globe, urban centers are being reshaped, rebuilt and reinvented. Character is enshrined in the buildings and spaces that we create. As cities become more globalised, the need for lasting cultural expression has never been greater. We live in an era of change, but thoughtful design is eternal. We at LBB&P believe that design is an opportunity to provide lasting and creative solutions to improve the spaces and environments where we live. Through our international experience, we see the challenges of bustling cities around the world where bold designs often clash with the landscapes of the past. LBB&P was founded in response to the challenges in which the transformation of the "modern city" represents in order to create richer and more purposeful design. Our philosophy is to create harmony between people and spaces, in which we acknowledge that people are the real protagonists, not the walls.

The proposal not only has an organic form inspired by the landscape and natural curves of the Chinese rice fields but it also features a green roof that connects with a “green ring” located at the south part of the site. This roof not only acts as a landscape feature but rather helps to separate the uses and create an elevated private entrance to the towers above the commercial area. Sustainability and efficiency was a key factor in the design of this project.

Niushan International Complex Location: Wenzhou, China. Typology: Mixed use & Subway station Status: Competition, Winners. Design: Under CCDI The complex is located between a river and a hill, the way to star was that we want to get advantage of the nature so we try to create the best views and a riverfront. The second strategy was that we have to integrate a light rail and a bus terminal in our project so we create an global building around them. We have worked hand to hand with the Australian Studio PTW. It has been a really interesting collaboration

Snow Mountain HOTEL Aerial view
Location: Sichuan, China. Typology: Hotel, Resort Status: Under Construction Design: Under CCDI The hotel is located near a High mountain and in a small hill. All these circumstances make the project extreme difficult but at the same time a real challenge. We decide to put adapt our hotel to the topography and trying to maximise the views. The style is a mix between old Chinese's architecture on the outside and modern and high tech on the interiors. The project is a Hyatt hotel so the requisites are really difficult to achieve.

FAW SALES OFFICE
Main Building perspective view Main Building perspective view
Type: Retail Place: Lagos, Nigeria Status: Under Construction Design: Under LB&P Among client requirements for this FAW truck sales office was to design a LOW BUDGET 5 story building, 1st and 2nd floor to accommodate the sales office and show room, floors 3 to 5 to accommodate dormitories for Businessmen travelling from China to Nigeria. Challenge was not only the budget but also to follow FAW brand identity which stipulates that the building must have Chinese architectural features in it as it needs to show the fact that FAW its a Chinese brand. As this will be the first FAW sales office in Nigeria we proposed a low budget building that could be selled afterwards if they noticed there is not enough market for them. A building with Chinese arch. features and an unusual program will be difficult to sell, so we proposed a Chinese entrance based in structural element "Dougong" that could be removed if they decide to give the building a different use.

ART EXHIBITION IN BEIJING As directors of the creative industries at RTM Beijing we curated an art exhibition about Mexican architecture at the most important art fair in Beijing. RTM a non profit organisation that helps generate and develop creative projects that includes highly skilled Mexicans living abroad who are linked to creative business sectors that generate high added value to contribute to a better integration of Mexico into the global economy, in particular the so-called knowledge economy, Displaced substance What we have left to remember? What are the witnesses of the time? How a time is marked with truthfulness? The architecture, that incorruptible witness of history, helps us look back to find that what happened actually was. An architectural retrospective, however short it may be, it helps to understand a little more where we come from and where we go. Mexico, with all its diversity has formed over time strong iconic images that have not only made history but have stuck in the imagination of an entire nation. But just at the time when the Mexican travels from one point to another, from one country to another, carries with him these disrupted images that in their sum are what keeps him bound to a recognisable nostalgia. When we left, we all carry a bit of the country we come from: a photograph to remember a loved one, a jar of preserves, a sweet, a habit, an image. These objects, being decontextualized lose a part of themselves, something of their essence fades into the road, a little sharpness vanishes on the trip. For an expat these distortions are assimilated with a degree of resignation. For the Mexican traveler, the fabric of his memories travels with him. Over time, the image takes longer to reach the memory, and so the displaced substance (in time, in space, in culture) is set as a vague memory, as a distant dream, as a pleasant illusion. An imprecise idea, just an outline of the original work, is embodied in the mind and heart. Veiled lines appear one after another to accommodate an image, although distorted, awakens an intense feeling of rootedness and belonging. A retrospective serves to understand more, but mostly serves to remember better.
