Trawden Garden Festival & Scarecrow Trail Saturday 8th & Sunday 9th July 2017 This year we hope Trawden Forest will be alive with the spectacular sights of Disney. So Walt’s stopping you? Let’s make this years family event the best one yet. We have made the categories easy this year, there will be prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd in each category, as well as awards for Highly Commended gardens & scarecrows, and awards for houses with Kerb Appeal.

Top Tips for Entrants!
Competition Gardens, Sunshine Strip and Baskets or Containers – Entries are judged on design and creativity, colour and planting schemes, variety and choice of plants, year round interest, overall appearance (i.e. weed and deadhead free) good plant coverage. Scarecrows / Novelty Entries (Themed entry without a scarecrow) – Entries are judged on creativity, originality, use of recycled materials, artistic merit and a dash of fun! Extra marks awarded to those entries which have documented (written or photographed) the scarecrow building process.
Exhibiting your Entry
Please have all scarecrows and competition entries ready for judging at 10am on Friday 7th July. Please display your entry number clearly near to your exhibit. The judges will have a rosette to identify them, please remember they are volunteers, helping out with the fun! Winners will have a certificate by early Friday evening to display by their entry.
Prize Giving and Raffle Draw
Will take place in St Mary’s Church on Sunday 9th July at 5pm (after the band), please try to attend if you have won a category!
Donations Anyone wishing to make a donation to the garden festival who doesn’t wish to enter, please post donations in a sealed envelope at the entry form drop off points:

Volunteers We are always grateful for any help before and over the festival weekend, and we are asking for people to donate just one hour of their time, whether it is helping in the tea room, selling programmes, raffle tickets or baking cakes for us, we would be happy and pleased to see you!
