“We are open for ministry,” Theresa Stride, the coordinator of the Camp Kulaqua says. “If you’re looking for a place to reconnect and bring people back together, this is the place to do it.” Local to the north central Florida area, Camp Kulaqua is a group retreat facility. This Christian camp has a lot to o er. The family-friendly environment makes a group day or weekend trip fun for everyone. “Once you’re here, you don’t have to leave—we have everything,” says Theresa.

Camp Kulaqua o ers a wide variety of activities for private group gatherings. Including but not limited to:

•Horseback riding • Water park • Tower of faith rock wall, zipline and leap of faith. • Go carts • Putt-putt golf • Wildlife sanctuary with exotic animals • Hayrides • Volleyball court • Waterpark (including a lazy river) • A naturally fed spring head within the camp • A Blob • Picnic area and more

This retreat center is the perfect venue for: • Christian Events

The whole camp is featured around group gatherings and encouraging reconnection. Even through the pandemic, small churches and small schools have used the facilities to reconnect their teams.

Day trips are also available to be reserved. “Schools like to come out and visit the wildlife sanctuary and enjoy our picnic area,“ Theresa says River Ranch Water Park can be rented for the day and is perfect for school eldtrips, church outings, company picnics, birthday parties, family fun days, and so much more.

The Water Park Includes:

•15,000-square-foot wave pool • • 600-foot-long lazy river Water slide (Children must be at least 42 inches tall to use the waterslide.) • • • • Two sand volleyball courts No tube rental fee Covered picnicking areas Safe, family-friendly environment • • • • Bathroom and shower facilities Small locker rentals Snack and drink machines No alcohol allowed

River Ranch is open from mid-April untill the end of August. It’s available by reservation only, except during Community Event Days. If you’re looking for events that are open to all, Camp Kulaqua also o ers summer camp for kids between the ages of 7 and 17, annually in June, and a camp for the entire family annually on Labor Day weekend for individual families. Community Sundays are open to individuals to come and enjoy the water park during the summer season. No reservations required, so check out the Facebook page for available dates or give them a call. All of the facilities are available by reservation only, except the water park on community Sundays. ■
