WITH LOVE

Once upon a time in a small valley amongst the mountains and the trees west of the great dividing range in the ‘land down under’ known as Australia, lived Felix in his home, in a hole below the ground.

One day, Miss Molly looked out the window early in the morning. “Are we going on an adventure?” asked Felix. “Oh yes” said Miss Molly.

What adventure shall we go on today?” asked Miss Molly. “How about a celebration at my house?” said Felix. “Is it going to be a fine day?” asked Miss Molly.

All days were fine for Felix. His skin was made of scales, so he did not feel the hot sun or the cold rain. As a matter of fact, he usually went to bed after breakfast and got up for dinner. So he knew very little about the daytime.

“Well, there’s a lot to be done said Miss Molly. Much preparation had to be done with invitations arranged to be delivered in song.

To the hills and over land, across the Tasman to far off lands,

Felix delivered invitations in song and pondered new opportunities to meet new friends with whom to belong. With Miss Molly by his side he flew upon the magpies.

Past a COLOSSAL SQUID, SEA URCHINS, CRAYFISH, EELS, FUR SEALS, DOLPHINS and WHALES they flew.

Through the CANOPY, OVER SANDS,

UNDER WATERFALLS, across the VALLEYS and behind the CLIFFS

they came to rest on MOUNTAIN PEAKS gazing upon the fantabulous METROPOLIS.

Next they ventured in the car to the markets to buy food for everyone to be fed. It was a beautiful car with red and yellow expandable tyres and a gold top with a special place for Miss Molly's harp.

It had green and gold seatbelts and accessories too. “What do they do?” asked Felix. “You will see.” said Miss Molly. Felix jumped in the front and put on his seatbelt.

Miss Molly turned the corner and ran into Mr Deaney coming from his garden with a barrow load of organic vegetables.

So Mr Deaney asked if he could join Felix and Miss Molly’s adventure. “Of course,” said Miss Molly.

So he got in the back with all of his organic vegetables. There were PUMPKINS, BRUSHED and SWEET POTATOES, KALE, CARROTS, CABBAGE, HORSERADISH, SHALLOTS, BRUSSEL SPROUTS, LETTUCE, SPINACH and green leafy ZUCCHINIS.

And there they were... Felix, and Miss Molly and Mr Deaney.

Next they came upon Mr Fred with his loaves of fresh baked bread. “Where are you going?” asked Mr Fred. “On an adventure” said Felix. “Can I come too?” asked Mr Fred. “Of course,” said Miss Molly.

Miss Molly touched a switch on the accessory panel. Now Mr Fred could sit in the car too.

And there they were... Felix, Miss Molly, Mr Deaney and Mr Fred.

Next they met Mr Kief to buy the finest cuts of grass and grain fed Aussie beef. To brew the finest stew of Aussie beef flavoured with garlic, cloves and black pepper. “Where are you going?” Asked Mr Kief. “On an adventure” said Felix.

“Can I come too?” asked Mr Kief. “Of course” said Miss Molly. So Miss Molly touched the accessory panel and Mr Kief jumped in.

And there they were… Felix, Miss Molly, Mr Deaney, Mr Fred and Mr Kief.

Last stop was to meet Mrs Erte to get the finest desserts... LAMINGTON CREAM ROLL, CINNAMON BUNS, PAVLOVA, ANZAC BISCUITS, and COCONUT ICE. “Where are you going” asked Mrs Erte? “On an adventure” said Felix. “Can I come too?” asked Mrs Erte.

“Of course said Miss Molly. So Miss Molly touched the accessory panel and Mrs Erte jumped in.

And there they were... Felix, Miss Molly, Mr Deaney, Mr Fred, Mr Kief and Mrs Erte.

Meanwhile Felix’s friends boiled up a fondue of yew with brewed LETTUCE, KALE, ALFALFA, SHREDDED CARROTS, FRUIT FLIES, WAX WORMS, MEAL WORMS, ZUCCHINIS, CRICKETS and EARTHWORMS.

Miss Molly hit the accessory panel and off they flew to join in with the beef stew and fondue. The evening was set, the celebration begun, glow worms shone and stars twinkled beyond.

And everyone played, sang, pranced and danced till the sun shone. KANGAROOS, KIWIS, KOALAS, EMUS, WOMBATS, POSSUMS, ECHIDNAS sitting on blankets sipping peppermint tea under the trees appreciating the leaves and each other. All creatures great and small joined this celebration.

Everyone had a wonderful time and tons of fun with loved ones, cinnamon buns and home runs! The season is short, the challenges great, but always remember to celebrate. For to delight in song, helps everyone get on.

And so it was...this adventure on a fine day in a small valley amongst the mountains and the trees west of the great dividing range in the ‘land down under’ known as Australia.
