LDV Events has partnered with The James New York - NoMad Hotel to offer catering and creative event production services available within the hotel’s private dining rooms, meeting spaces and ballroom. Each event is exclusively catered by LDV’s flagship restaurant brand, the critically acclaimed Scarpetta Restaurant. The original Scarpetta opened in New York City’s Meatpacking District in 2008 to a 3-star review in the New York Times. The restaurant’s name is derived from the Italian Expression “fare la Scarpetta,” which means to savor a meal to the last bite. Led by Scarpetta’s Executive Chef, Jorge Espizona, LDV Events is dedicated to creating memorable guest experiences through our award winning guest service, and our customized food and craft beverage programs. Guests will have an unparalleled catering experience, offering a menu that includes Scarpetta’s signature classic dishes with homemade pastas made fresh daily, and the opportunity to customize the menu to meet each event need.

EXEC UTIVE SCARPETTA CHEF - J ORGE ESPINOZA

Originally from Queretaro, Mexico, Jorge grew up assisting his parents in the kitchen and was influenced by their passion and love for cooking. His mother brought flavor and tradition to the kitchen, while his father was the creative one, and Jorge inherited both qualities. In 2000, Jorge moved to New York to pursue his passion for cooking. He started out as a butcher at Monkey Bar, and then moved on to work with Chef David Walzog at Tapika as a line cook for almost 3 years. Chef David was a mentor for Jorge, who introduced him to technique in the kitchen and taught him a lot of cooking secrets. Although Jorge was a full-time employee at Tapika, he also had several part-time jobs in order to get as much experience and exposure in the kitchen as possible. Jorge’s passion and interest in Italian cuisine led him to opening L’imperó in 2003. After that, Jorge worked on opening Alto and Tutto il Giorno in the Hamptons. Through colleagues, Jorge was introduced to John Meadow and LDV Hospitality, and collectively opened Scarpetta in Meatpacking. In 2015, Jorge with LDV opened Scarpetta Beach in Montauk, followed by Scarpetta Philadelphia in 2016, and Scarpetta Newport summer 2017. Most recently, Chef Jorge led an international training program to teach all of the new team members how to recreate the Scarpetta experience with the opening of Sette by Scarpetta in London in June 2019.

The Studio rooms are located on the lower level of the hotel. The newly renovated space is approximately 900 square feet, with beautiful natural light. The room can be divided into two, or opened up as one large space. The event space can be used for large groups interested in the Scarpetta Private Dining Room, and also lends itself well to cocktail receptions, bridal showers and other milestone celebrations. Looking for an on site ceremony location for your boutique wedding? This space can also be transformed to host intimate wedding ceremonies on site.

THE MADISON ROOM

The Madison Room is our premiere events space, located on the lower level of the hotel. Infusing the perfect blend of modern yet elegant design and a neutral color palette, the event space allows guests to transform the room to any personal style and celebration type. The Madison Room is the largest of our event spaces, with 2,200 square feet of reception space, and can host up to 180 guests for a seated dinner, or 100 guests for a seated dinner with a dance floor. The critically acclaimed Scarpetta Restaurant is located on the ground floor of the James New York - NoMad Hotel, available for breakfast, lunch, dinner and brunch. Local ingredients and fresh pastas made fresh daily compliment the menu, with each meal period mixing Scarpetta signature classic menu items as well as dishes that change with the season. Offering something for everyone, guests will find a light Crudo section with a flavorful assortment of Italian style “sushi,� in addition to a Verdure section which offers a mix of seasonal rotating vegetable small plates. For those looking to indulge, pasta is always on the menu. Complete your meal with homemade desserts and an Italian style coffee. For breakfast and brunch, guests can expect freshly baked breads and pastries, Italian style egg dishes and a delight Almond French Toast all served with optional fresh juices or specialty brunch cocktails. The Restaurant is available for private hire or semi-private hire upon request; subject to availability and season.

The Seville is a tribute to the original Beaux-Arts “Hotel Seville” that stood in its place, built in 1904. In its time, the space came to life as a tantalizing prohibition bar filled with high society New Yorker’s. Entertain your guests with us as we return to the throwback New York social scene, with music and cocktails that transport you to an authentic feel good place. If you’re looking for an eclectic place to host a pre-wedding cocktail reception or a social celebration, the Seville is available for private hire; subject to availability and season. The Seville also has a Private Lounge available for up to 25 guests if you’d like to remain part of the night-time experience, but have a little privacy for your group.
