“The architect had not stopped to bother about columns and porticos, proportions or interiors, or any limitation upon the epic he sought to materialize; he had simply made a servant of Nature - art can go no further.” Lew Wallace, Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ

Clichy housing
Creating a visual break through for the street by moving two identical rectangles and lifting the further one. The gap between the two shapes creates a path. Going public to private takes more time, there is no brutal separation. Clichy is a suburb town near the North of Paris. An old industreal zone with little green areas. In Paris the streets are very dense, there is little space for people to walk. It’s in everyone’s interest to create holes and views through our design, especially if they bring green spaces. 7

Building space from a 2D visual. This building is the result from a specific design approach : creating from 2D visual. By choosing ÂŤLight Red over BlackÂť 3 blocks emerge and take place into space. The light coming from each part of the painting places the blocks in space. The paniting is only an excuse from designing something that does not comes from our mind. A library must be a clear, transparent space, where one must not get lost. All useful fucntions are enlighted with color.

Fondation This project is located in Paris, in the Cité Universitaire. It’s a very particular site composed by differents blocks. The whole idea of the projetc is to create a square, for the students, which would be surrounded by different kinds of blocks with each it’s own function: Housing, Artgallery, cafetereia. The aim of the project is to create a tension between the blocks. 11

In the center of Paris three blocks head toward light and special Parisian views. The angle is articulated with the lowest of the blocks. Space between the blocks create public areas for the residents, outside terraces, and gardens. The ground floor is all made out of glass to create a visual open effect on the narrow streets.

Olympiades Urban Complex: Public parc and housing The slab of the Olympiads is an atypical urban space made up of an urban slab that supports among the largest towers of housing of Paris. The project is located south of the slab. (It is a group work, therefore a new way of working.) It is decided to take advantage of the geographical situation of the project to connect the slab to the 13th district, creating a ramp that adapts to the style of the Slab, and a housing part that clings to the city.
