Noted water conservation expert, Amy Vickers, author of Water Use & Conservation, defines water efficiency as: “Minimization of the amount of water used to accomplish a function, task or result.” In other words, doing more with less water.

As sports field managers, we know what it means to do more with less – we do it every day. And if the predictions hold true, we also know what the future of water use holds. All of us must prioritize sustainable water management to protect our industry’s (not to mention our planet’s) most valuable resource: water.

To that end, NESTMA will keep the issue of water conservation and efficiency front and center through online learning, hands on demonstrations, member polls, this publication and more.
